Variation question

I launch a monthly product and have a loyal following. It is a kit with various things. My price has always been $22.99, I launched a variation to my April product (it’s my first time). It’s a deluxe package and the price for this is $29.99.

When I do a search for my two main words " April Widget" I pop up, the thing is the expensive one is what shows in the search. I would love for the cheaper one to show and then you see the variation once you click into the listing.
What can I do to make this happen? I don’t want my customers or new customers to look past the listing thinking I upped the price.

There is nothing you can do. The deluxe package will only show when it becomes the more popular product or the other variation sells out.

Think you mixed this up but great to see you here Orange…

The reality is nobody really knows (including Amazon), why certain variations get preference.

In this case, the OP wants the cheaper option showing but the more expensive one is now.

Sounds like Amazon wants more $… Shocker.

When it comes to FBA variations, we have experience with the better inventory position (weeks on hand), gets the preference due to better time to home.

IDK if the OP is FBA but if they are - this might be the answer

You’re correct, in this case I would have just created a separate listing for the deluxe item. I’ve never seen “deluxe” as a variation theme, but each category is different.

I’m FBM. Great idea, let me change my handling time on the expensive one and see what happens. Since posting this I’ve sold 2 cheap ones, so I’ll see tomorrow how it shows.

How did that work out?
