I have my authenticator app set up in Walmart, but I can’t figure out how to add a second app. Couldn’t find anything on Google either. Any help?
Are you trying to set up a second user or add a second site to the same authenticator?
A second user would just have to sign in and scan the QR code to their phone using the Google Authenticator or have the Google Authenticator signed into the same account that you have set up for the Google Authenticator (this is the easiest way).
For a second site, just use the Google Authenticator (when you are signed in) and scan the QR code of the second site. The Google Authenticator will run both sites. We have 4 on one Google Authenticator associated with one gmail account (business) and 3 on another Google Authenticator with a different gmail account (personal).
Both Microsoft and Google Authenticators can run more than one site on the same authenticator account.
Our business Google Authenticator runs on 2 phones and a tablet. All sign into the same gmail account and all provide authentication for all of the sites associated with it.
This is how it works on most sites, yes. However, I can’t figure out how to make this work on Walmart.
I set up 2FA on one phone, no problem.
But then I can’t get the QR code to link a second phone. 2FA settings under the ADMIN settings just has a switch to turn 2FA on and off, and trying to access the 2FA settings under account settings only has an option to switch the 2FA to text or email.
If you are using Google Authenticator … on the second phone, just sign into the Authenticator with the same email account used on the first phone. All of the sites associated with that Google Authenticator account will show up automatically.
That’s not an option.
Think of it more as adding a second user.
Maybe if I add a second user to the Walmart account, it would be able to get its own QR code. I’ll try that, but it’s kind of a pain. This is much easier to manage on pretty much any other site.
A second user login would mean a second email which should allow for that email to set up the Google Authenticator app to access.
