Walmart.com dumbster fire

We have been trying to sell on walmart for years, but managing our catalogue/ads etc seems to be fruitless… and the ads seem to not convert… Does anyone work with a reasonable agency who has produced sales using walmart ads? …

That said, we seem to just waste money there, support is non existent, we sometimes get orders, but nothing like amazon. w

This is not universally true, but it is pretty common.

I can’t recommend a third party resource for Walmart as I have never used one, but we do have some moderately successful Walmart sellers here, why not try posting some specific issues here and see if you can get some constructive help?

Walmart seller support is… not great…

Hello, thanks for the reply… We do not have any specific issues, simply the lack of order volume and return from ads, despite having a walmart partner agency set up our account/store/trademark etc… thousands wasted it seems,

Walmart is pay to play. CPC is lower than Amazon by a lot so it makes it manageable bc of our low COGs.

You have to scroll through 8-10 listings or sometimes more to get to organic 1, etc…

We have 6 listings on Walmart and only 1 of them sells and that’s because it’s a less saturated niche.

We pay a freelancer (that runs an agency) $2700 a month to manage AMZ / WMT PPC. He’s been invaluable in helping us grow our brands / increase ROI - including his cost. It was a risk we took which turned out to be worth it. We strike out on most risks / initiatives we take on. A crystal ball would be nice.

Such is life. It’s not easy to win with marketplace selling. Walmart is much harder to succeed on than Amazon. The traffic simply isn’t there.

What I can recommend is to enhance your listings if possible with A+ through Sku Ninja / Whytespyder. That’s the only way to get enhanced content on Walmart listings.

Videos helped us as well and you can get them on your listings without paying anything. Sku Ninja is $5 a month per listing.

Unlike Amazon, almost no listings on Walmart have enhanced content / videos so you can stand out / convert.

Forgot 1 thing… Reviews…

Review counts are generally pretty low on Walmart so if you can get them you’re better off if you are not reselling another brand on an existing listing.

Bazaarvoice is connected to Walmart and the only authorized way to buy reviews essentially (like Vine). $15 per review, no limit. You need to ship the product yourself to the buyers and it’s a bit of a PITA to setup and manage but we do it with everything on Walmart when we launch a listing there. They generally all come back positive and you can just keep doing more in the future if you want…
