Thank you for your business,
The Walmart Marketplace team
Dang, Wally is active to start the year, now they’re also adding an INR metric with a bogus start date of Spring 2026
Hi,
We’re committed to helping you grow your business while building a strong, trusted experience for customers along the way. To better reflect industry standards and simplify performance metrics, we’re retiring the Refund Rate and introducing two new metrics: Return Rate and Item Not Received (INR) Rate. By separating item-related concerns from fulfillment issues, we’re working together to surface issues sooner, address them more effectively, and strengthen trust across our Marketplace community.
What’s changing
Refund Rate is retiring
We’re moving away from GMV-based calculations to provide a clearer view of performance drivers.
New! Return Rate
Return Rate measures the percentage of delivered items that are returned due to a seller-related issue over the past 60 days. Keep your Return Rate at 6% or below to meet the standard.
New! Item Not Received (INR) Rate
INR Rate measures the percentage of items customers report not receiving due to a seller-related issue over the past 60 days. Keep your Item Not Received Rate at 2% or below to meet the standard.
Note: These rates are calculated differently than the Refund Rate, so you may notice variations when comparing performance across metrics.
When do these changes take effect?
Return Rate and INR Rate will become official standards in Spring 2026. We’ll check back in to share timelines and resources before enforcement.
So you can best prepare, the metrics will soon appear in your Performance dashboard under a new Upcoming Standards section, as well as in the Performance API and Walmart Seller mobile app. This gives you time to review your performance before the standards are enforced.
Reminder: We recently rolled out a new Negative Feedback Rate as well. Be sure to monitor your ratings and maintain a rate of 2% or below to meet our standards.
Saw this walmart update this morning but so happy to see YOU, Tony!
Thank you! It’s good to see and greet everybody!
