Well that’s nice. Amazon introduced placement fees with a min ship to of 5 locations. Walmart QUICKLY followed suit but only forced 3 locations. Now Walmart upped the ante to 8 LOCATIONS! How long till Amazon goes to 10? We ship mostly SPD to Walmart so guess it’s time to go to smaller shippers and see if that’s cheaper than placement fees (25 cents a unit)…
They clearly misworded..
“In order to pass the cost of distribution on to you via subterfuge and lies, we are implementing a program that will require you to choose between fees or logistics cost at your expense, so we can maximize profits off of your products. Our executives and shareholders need a new Gulfstream, and we DGAF about customers or you.”
Want to follow up on this after what I just experienced…. Walmart is full of it…..
They used to say 3 shipments to avoid placement fees. Then they moved it to 8.
Reality - All you need is 2 to avoid the placement fees. LOL
When they went to 3, I never tried anything smaller. Today (after getting the 8 email), we were just going to eat the fees when restocking a lower volume item (2 shippers).
Option A - $72 in placement fees (25 cents a unit), to go to 1 location.
Option B - $0 in placement fees to go to 2 locations with 1 shipper to each.
Silly and refreshing… Every penny counts boys and girls….
