Was There Ever a Theory that Amazon Algo Caps Brands Daily Sales?

I’ve had this happen twice so far this year, so jumping to conspiracy. But…

I typically have orders throughout the day, rarely ever seeing a one or two hour gap between orders across all my skus. Which makes sense since one of my skus alone has a conversion rate of over 90% and sells about a unit per hour.

But man, if I start off swinging in the morning, and break my daily average before 10am, I won’t get another sale for close to the entire day. The first time I thought it was odd, and today I’m on a 9-hour gap since last sale after the same fast start.

I did some searches and my products aren’t showing and have been dropped off results by an entire page.

Odd, maybe coincidence.

Your Ad budget getting exhausted early?

So you’re saying that your organic ranking drops way down if you have a good morning?

I’ve never seen that personally.

There’s a lot of reality in conspiracies on Amazon so don’t feel bad. Things aren’t always as they seem and Amazon does “spread the wealth around” unfortunately and sales throttling is a real thing IMHO.

And I’m not the only one that thinks / sees it.

ooohhh! wonder if you are onto something with ad budget. let me see if that is the ticket.

no. Only spent $27 today, all campaigns have budget left.

One campaign gets a lot of credit. One click, CPC 1.91, $740 sale for multiple units of product.
