Weather

is… there a difference? I thought this was one of those regionalisms.

Yes … a basement is built as part of the house. It is like a second floor upstairs except it is below ground so it is downstairs.

A cellar is separate from the house and is it’s own structure. We have a cellar and have to go outside (about 20 feet from the back door) to enter into it. Our cellar has a 14’ X 21’ foot concrete slab on top of it (use it as a patio). The actual size of the cellar below is 8’ X 10’.

Huh. so a cellar is a “homeless” basement.

Whack.

A cellar is a space that will still be covered after the tornado goes through.

When the tornado makes you homeless, you’ll still have a “roof” over your head in the cellar.

We are getting rain today, so I thought yesterday Yeah I better mow!

30 minutes into the 90 minute job, steering goes light on the tractor then, wait the wheels aren’t turning! STUPID BALL JOINT (that was just replaced) popped. Service will be out this week I guess, but the weather is nice, LOL

45 degrees and raining here in NYC. Predicted for the rest of the weekend.

Better than snow. It cleans up the sidewalks.

We needed this…

And plenty up north, so helping fill the watershed. Thankfully nothing violent, so as far as a rainy day goes, pretty good (although there was supposed to be a town-wide yard sale one town over…)

This is the steadiest precipitation I’ve seen in ages… It’s perfect.

Similar situation weather-wise, but for me my fancy oil drain valve decided to open while I was mowing. Thankfully, engine has a low oil shutoff sensor, but very little mowing was accomplished before the rain hit.
