I like the Warning too , but I wouldn’t compare them to Metallica. They are More like Halestorm.

No not a comparison, just that they play a lot of Metallica.

Getting Christmasssssy! Got my TSO UBS Tix!

And there’s one more thing that i have discovered
And i would now like you to know
The reason for christmas i now realize
Is an excuse to tolerate snow
Snow!
I don’t even like the sound of it
Anyway, where was i
Oh, yes!

What is christmas?
Candles everywhere
A fire hazard any other day
Children light them
No one seems to care
All for christmas…

I should be wiser, and realize that I’ve got
One less problem without ya
I got one less problem without ya
I got one less problem without ya (I got one less, one less problem)

10 years after this dropped, I still assert my dominance in many situations by breaking into these lyrics and doing the dance, a la Ariana. My kids HATE it, so you know it works!

ETA: More soul, less Iggy Azalea (you know I love those LiveLounge covers)

Papa was in one of my halftime shows in the 90s, so I hear that first lick and am immediately on high alert for my cues :guitar::guitar:

Didn’t know there was this thread; thanks for copying.

Hard to believe that the Temptations didn’t want to do this song; they were a vocal band, so the idea of a song that started with 2+ minutes of instrumental was against their instincts. Thankfully their producer knew better…

ETA : there is, on one of the streaming channels, a concert film of the Temptations in Vegas or Branson or some place similar. DON’T WATCH IT. It’s obvious that every movement is something that they’ve done for 2 shows a day (3 on Saturday) for the last 15 years; there’s no joy in it at all. It’s actually rather depressing to see.

I’m listening to one of my favorite Blues music radio programs. Honoring Black History Month by playing African American artists.

Really struggling to tell the difference from the regular programming.

Not exactly a ā€œwhat I’m listening toā€ thing, but I just saw a headline about a recall of ā€œCanned Tunaā€, and my brain went to ā€œCanned Heatā€ and ā€œHot Tunaā€.

Did I just admit that I’m old???

I am a big fan of the entire Tolkien legendarium.

The musical group Clamavi de Profundis (Out of the depths I have cried…) has set Tolkien’s poem The Song of Earendil to music here:

This musical group has recorded a range from Gregorian Chant to more New Age fare. Pretty good at Tolkien’s Elvish language, if you are into that sort of thing.

Tolkien fans can easily slide down this rabbit hole.
