šŸ“» What I'm listening to

Been there, done that

I tried to listen to the Peter Jackson movies soundtrack the other day, but my daughter yelled at me. She only wants to listen to

and she gets upset if I play anything else.

Kasey Chambers - Lose Yourself (Eminem Cover) LIVE @ Civic Theatre, Newcastle AU

Who knew I would love a rap song done with a banjo & find myself hearing a country artist turn into pink floyd at the end

What I’m listening to

… the neighbor’s lawn mower for the last two hours … it’s a low hum drum hum over and over.

Normal Saturday night; listening to The Blues Show on XPN.

They played Taj Mahal’s song ā€œI’m too young to be this oldā€.

Yep. I can relate.

BTW, does anyone know a streaming radio station (preferably college) that has a Blues show on Friday nights? I have every other night covered, but can’t find any good blues on Fridays.

8 peaceful hours of being severed from my family…

Saturday Night I saw Bill Kirchen (again).

Got to see my contemporaries while I can and they are still active. Sold out performance, mostly grey heads.

Must have been painful for you the day Beethoven stopped playing.

I’m listening to The ā€œThose Lowdown Bluesā€ Show on KJZZ (Phoenix, AZ). Last show before Halloween. Amazing just how many Halloween themed blues songs there are! I maybe could have named 3-4; he’s been going solid for an hour+!

2 days till I get to see Boz Scaggs.

Next month, Keiko Matsui…

Then the long slog to February for one of my all time favorites Ottmar Liebert.

Yet another awesome reason to live where 40 million other people live. Great venues and things to do, see and hear.

My wife made fun of me because Kenny G was playing at the same venue. I think I hurt myself scoffing so hard.

UK rap is growing on me especially when its mixed into Dance

This is going into my gym playlist. Nice mix for an older song.

Ok last one:

You can love whatever you music you like just not at the Super Bowl apparently.

My daughter discovered banjos so now we listen to a lot of this…

Time to introduce her to Bella Fleck and the Flecktones.

Its in the Jazz category. I saw them play at the Playboy Jazz festival back in 1991. Never saw a banjo at a jazz concert like that before.

Also a good band if you want to hear multi-rythmic stuff. There’s one song where banjo is playing 4/13, backing instruments playing 4/17. Very creative (and weird) stuff.

Also for banjo, you can check out Steve Martin; he’s a genuine top level player (more traditional than Bela)
