Since Amazon basically has been deleting that automatically from the title. Are you guys not putting it as the first word or ?
We put it in when they wanted it in and it has stayed.
It is generally there for most in the category we are in.
We keep it in to help with brand recognition and buyer confidence off Amazon. Our brand name also has a strong keyword for the products.
They aren’t deleting it universally. If you search for your brand it will be there. It’s also what they want even though they delete it sometimes so the right thing to do it to follow the style guideline. Keeps ya out of any unnecessary BS.
Agreed, probably not worth the headache of not having it there.

All of my titles were changed a few years back to include my brand name in the beginning of the title. Just double checked and a number of listings still have it on the listing but most don’t. ![]()
After requiring having our brand name in the title, all of ours were removed on the product page but not on the search pages. This happened the same week we were migrated to DD+7 and the day after (maybe of) the melt down at the beginning of March which was the day before our DD+7 migration.
In the Manage Inventory Edit pages, the brand remains in the title and some other attributes remain the same even though they show different values on the product detail page. Plus new attribute values were added that do not pertain to the product.

This toggled several times for us. The trademark IS the name of the product, so removing the name of the product from the description title was… moronic.
We fought with Amazon about this, and explained that unlike the majority of amazon sellers, we were an actual manufacturer with a product that was popular long before Amazon sold its first book. Our “brand name” is not a gibberish string of characters that does not exist outside of a listing for a generic product sold by 20 sellers, nor is it the name of an amazon “store”, and thus a trademark that simply does not exist outside Amazon.
We ended up writing the legal department, and pointed them to a federal trademark enforcement action we took against a counterfeiter, explaining that we value our Trademark, and would not hesitate to protect our right to use our Trademark properly, and Amazon’s removal of the Trademark from the listing was a clear and compelling violation of US Trademark law, as they were “de-branding” our product when they were re-selling our product.
Now, this was a very big stretch in my view - “Material Alteration” is most often only an issue when the trademark is removed from the product itself or the packaging, or both. The “legal theory” here, as explained by both the in-house and outhouse counsel, is that an Amazon customer only sees the website when purchasing, so from a “consumer confusion” viewpoint, the website IS the “package selected from the shelf” by the Amazon customer.
The second “stretch” here was “Amazon re-selling”. Our position was that if Amazon was merely a “platform”, then we should have the sole control over the title of the listing, subject to reasonable platform rules like “no profanity” and so on. If Amazon was in control of this electronic point of sale display, then they were a “reseller”, and not a transparent platform. I am paraphrasing some very high-priced talent here, my legal knowledge starts with Perry Mason, and ends with 'Rumpole of the Bailey". Don’t expect me to be able to discuss nuances here.
Now, not having the name of the product in the title of the listing was assumed to lower the ability of customers “searching by product name” in finding our product. I have no idea if it did hurt or not. Maybe it was all just formatting nonsense, and the photos all showed the trademark anyway.
But Amazon DID put our product name back in the listing title where it had been. They explained that they were merely doing an “A/B” test, and we had been removed from the test group due to our complaint.
Maybe so.
What path of contact did you do? We also had our trademarked name remove from the title on the product detail page (but still appears on the search page titles).
If you don’t want to post it in here, please PM us with the info.
Agree, we invented products, manufactured them well before Amazon was born. We only ended up on Amazon since we had a “beat them or join them” moment. We all know how that works out…
