Until now … very few and mostly revolve around shipping charges (which aren’t worth cashing down … we did it once and Amazon said they would reimburse but never did).
We would also note that we check all income channels not just Amazon. PayPal also has some shipping charge issues from time to time.
You know there will be errors, For example the return period is 30 days from delivery, No it’s 30 days from the last day of the delivery estimate, No the Bot doesn’t take into account that some months are 31 days.
One account was established in 2000, the second in 2004 so both are over the 20 year mark.
Received the message for both accounts.
Never a reserve on either, always daily reimbursements from day 1.
IMO, Amazon is figuring out creative ways to make more $ so they don’t have to raise prices on other ■■■■ for sellers.
New Coupon Fees
New penalties and fees for FBA (placement fees)
Higher coupon Fees on events (Prime Day, BF/CM, etc.)
THIS…..
I can’t think of too many other things but I bet FBA fees go up next year anyway. They have fines to pay and will use tariffs and other assorted BS as an excuse.
Fuel isn’t that expensive anymore. When is that surcharge dropping off???
I have a new idea for a fee just for China bases sellers for selling junk and being corrupt. +10% on referral fee. That will make Amazon a boatload of money. The exact opposite will probably happen though.
I noticed the minimum bid for sponsored brand ads have gone up from $0.10 to $0.50. The old ads have been grandfathered in, but anything new costs more.
Reminder … it is about to start and we got this email today …
Hello,
This is a reminder that on March 5, 2026, we’ll update your account reserve settings to the standard reserve period of seven days after delivery date (DD+7).
We previously notified you of this update on September 29, 2025. This change aligns with the settings most sellers use worldwide.
With this change to DD+7, we’ll release funds to you seven days after order delivery. The seven-day reserve period starts after the confirmed delivery date for tracked shipments and the estimated delivery date for untracked shipments. When an order ships, we collect and hold the payment until this seven-day period passes, then move the funds to your available balance.
To prepare, we recommend that you review your cash reserves to ensure you have sufficient funds for the transition. You may experience a one-time cash flow impact and temporarily limited ability to disburse funds on or around your migration date. If you have longer periods between order and shipping or shipping and delivery, you may be impacted more.
If you prefer, you can use disburse on demand to request the disbursement of all funds not under reserve on a daily basis, rather than the standard settlement cycle.
The question we still have is … what if we ship (use Amazon Buy Shipping, AHT enabled, and SSA enabled) and the order is lost by the shipper? Will Amazon release the payment after 7 days from the estimated delivery date? How will Amazon handle A2Z claims for INR orders?
We currently have 3 orders that have not moved in days (we assume weather related). All are now past their estimated deliver by date. How will Amazon handle payment of these type orders?
We set up an excel sheet to track DD, DD+7, and the date the payment is released. We are going to give it 3 months and then decide if Amazon is worth the hassle.
When I got the email this morning, I came here and searched for “DD+7” and refound this thread. Along with our comments when the announcement first hit the streets last fall.
The things that gave me some items to think about.
“To prepare, we recommend that you review your cash reserves to ensure you have sufficient funds for the transition.” Great AZ I wonder how the cash reserves and payment situation is for the people that make these typed of ideas come to reality?
“You may experience a one-time cash flow impact and temporarily limited ability to disburse funds on or around your migration date.” Outstanding, like we don’t have a cashflow issue now! Like the $100 return notification I got that was 100 days old 5 days after the Last day of January. Add to that we don’t have the product back, and it could take months before we do! Talk about a cashflow issue! That you Amazon for this problem you caused!
“If you have longer periods between order and shipping or shipping and delivery, you may be impacted more.” Great NEWS for handmade and custom product sellers! Thanks Amazon! We did not need food for a few weeks.
“If you prefer, you can use disburse on demand to request the disbursement of all funds not under reserve on a daily basis, rather than the standard settlement cycle.” Wow great Amazon a SOLUTION! NOT, we have never had the ability to do “daily disbursement” since we started. Just every two weeks, on Wednesday like clockwork.
We finally, did the “Pay a fee” for early disbursement of “Invoiced Orders” it worked when they started it. Net 30 and if the customer did not pay, we still got paid. As we all know you can not opt out of it. The problem is “Net when they feel like it” turned into terms as long as 100+ days. I hated doing it, we get charged enough fees. It has worked well, I guess that will have an unknown “DD+ when they feel like it” assigned to that too. And they will still take the fees!
Listening to You Tube videos on how to game the Amazon system while I wrote this. I enjoy the punishment Amazon! Keep it rolling!
This was answered on the ■■■■ show forums. The answer was yes. Although I will assume that the DD+7 will function just like the return period.
The return period is based on the latest estimated received by date, not actual delivery. which means DD+7 has the potential to be DD+15
Well, for us, I guess I can look at the “bright side” of this.
It’s coming at a time where sales are so slow that there’s barely any funds to be missing! (right now, the weekly Ebay payout is looking to be double the Amazon payout, and Ebay is really slow!)
This is a wise use of time, that many Sellers should consider. Data-based decision-making with the foresight to recognize that a decision should be made.
Amazon is telling 3P FBMs that the game has changed–and, as usual, not in Sellers’ favor.
I get the pain that all of you who currently don’t have the current “standard” operating procedure are feeling. Many of us had this from the start so we experienced the “where’s my money” phase already and have been resigned to “this is the way it works” from the get go.
It’s not really that bad. It could be much worse. I’m afraid they’ll start extending the 7 once everyone is switched over and they need to do another change to make their balance sheets look better.
I fear the day when every order is “reserved” net 60.
Right now Michael’s is on a 14 day after shipment confirmed, then it is up to a week to arrive in your account. Not much volume there so not a big deal for me, but the thing that bothers with Amazon is as @Lost_My_Marbles questions is how lost or delayed packages will be handled. And of course it will require more effort to verify payment and keep Amazon honest. I have never had my credit card charged for advertising but I suspect it will happen for a few cycles as slow as it has been.
