I was prepared for the usual last-opportunity-to-get-it-before-Xmas orders. But I had zero sales this weekend. I ocassionally have a day without sales, but almost never two in a row. ( FWIW, I am happy to say that eBay picked up much of the slack. The cats will not starve. )
Is Amazon telling buyers that it won’t arrive on time with 10 shipping days left? I offer expedited on almost everything.
Usually the bulk of my sales are on weekends. Zero, Zip, Nada,
The last of my sales were on Friday. (which makes no sense seeing Friday, Sat, Sun sales all will ship the same day)
YES.
This has been happening since Thursday 12/12.
Our best selling items are in quantity in FBA which, of course, is still promising next or 2 day delivery .
FBM orders have slowed considerably. “May arrive after Christmas” doesn’t appeal to most buying a gift or holiday item.
Even if there was 2 day handling time anything purchased up until and including today should be delivered by 12/24
We had a normal weekend with orders having estimated delivery dates of 12/23/2024. This morning’s order shows estimated delivery date of 12/26/2024.
We are FBM with 2 day handle time using USPS Ground Advantage (less than 1lb) and expected Sunday 12/15/2024 would be that last day that the estimated delivery date would be before Christmas.
As others have noted, yes they are. I’m actually surprised by the order flow that I have been getting. Things were so slow for much of the year that I was sitting at a -45% YTD but I have “recovered” to only being down 37%.
This is showing for an order received this morning –
We had a buncha sales on Sat. An unexpectedly active day!! A few Sunday(the 15th) and a few orders stumbled in Monday night, like drunken sailors at an all-night strip club.
Two orders, both inexpensive, going all the way across country Tuesday morning, which was our last shipping day. We did send those going to MA. FL and NC EXPEDITED
(we’re shipping from Tucson.) Just checked them, being somewhat anxious re those supposed to arrive on 23rd, 24th. Tracking reflects arrival 20th, 21st-and several reached Brooklyn and other portions of NY in TWO DAYS(Media Mail)
So far, am very pleased w/ sales in Dec and USPS delivery of same!!.
Though wonder if sales will hold up after X-mas. Last year, they didn’t. Think Sales were good this year because where else can you get a gift(noty a gift card for $20-25(including shipping)?.
Ours went a bit longer than you. Wednesday here just 7 days until Christmas. We see it every year. We were good over the weekend. Tapered down this week and “Off the Cliff Today” we are done for the holiday season.
One of the Team members wanted to do a holiday party with family today, fine by me. Another one, her husband works for the USPS had today off. I once again said, PLEASE go on a lunch date on his day off. She works through lunch nearly every day all year long.
First clue, they both had a great time off today. I should have known it was “Cliff Day” end of sales for the 2024 holiday season.
Sales have been slow for me too. I’ve sold a few books and a piece of sheet music that had been in my inventory far too long. I also sold a sewing pattern which surprised me because I only have a handful of patterns listed.
I did have an interesting sale. There have been discussions about mailing books to prisons. This book was not sent directly to a prison, instead it was sent to a college program that helps inmates complete degrees. The book may eventually end up at a prison though if it is related to the student’s degree program.
This is the time of year when my sales have been dead for many years.
No active Amazon listings, but my Ebay sales are way ahead of any past year for December. All items which have languished for months or years.
Perhaps, other sellers have been discouraged from listing these or similar items or perhaps some people feel more optimistic. The recent behavior of the stock market is certainly not doing anything to encourage buying.
I am giving cash this Christmas. I know it will be appreciated.
“I am giving cash this Christmas. I know it will be appreciated.”
It is appreciated. Way back when, my parents sent checks to all of their children and grandchildren for the gift tax limit to keep the funds out of their estates and help all of us with expenses in the here and now.
