Amazon not allowing new otc herbal pills?

[Amazon]( Dietary Supplement Multivitamin Products Inactive & Not Accepting Applications to Sell.)

I have seen this several times in the new forums where Amazon is not accepting new otc herbal pills. Can anyone expound on this? This does not yet effect us as we are selling already established brands, but I am stressing about it expanding to effect us as well.

News to me. Judging by the size of the category and the $ Amazon makes off of it in PPC alone, I find it incredibly hard to believe this is true.

If this was really happening, I think there would be hundreds of posts on the NSFE. I would have heard about it from other industry groups I belong to.

Could be user error or some sort of other verification issue with the seller. The post you tagged here is from a brand new seller. I seem to remember getting that same error in 2018 when we started on Amazon. I don’t remember what the issue was though.

Are there any other NSFE links you can share that I can take a look at?

IDK what this is but it looks like a miscategorization issue TBH.

I saw one last week as well, but can not find it now.

I agree, based off of the refurbished, used category. Amazon will not sell pills in that category.

Here is another one, same issue I think.

Eh… That’s just Amazon’s sledge-hammer approach. That line is universal and has always been like that for every category. Confusing AF…

Also… This last thread you linked was resolved. Of course nobody said how so that’s helpful… haha

I think “OTHER” is the issue maybe… Just picking the wrong subcat within the cat, throwing an error.

Fair that.
So, Amazon being Amazon. Poor coding, poor bots, and confusion reigns supreme.

All my pills are collectable.
They are my retirement plan, ever since those damn beanie babies inexplicably crashed.

I have been watching the chaos in the supplement category on the Amazon forums. It is not promising.

About what? Please share

It SURE would be nice if Amazon is finally taking a harder stance on BS amateur-hour supplement sellers but I find that really hard to believe.

Now that Alibaba has infiltrated the category IN A BIG WAY, things have never been more dangerous for buyers.

The increase of sudden “request approval” after listing even for established listings is concerning.

I DO agree with you that everyone and their mother shouldn’t be able to sell their AliBaba supplements, but that’s not the case where I’m sitting personally, so I’m watching warily.

If you are all buttoned up, you have nothing to worry about IMO.

I perused the NSFE after I saw your note earlier. All those affected appear to be new sellers.

There’s probably some new bot deployed.

I used to let all this stuff keep me up at night. Now I don’t. Part of my lack of concern is paying way too much money for SAS (strategic account services). Well worth every single penny for us.

Bypassing FBA issues
Getting BS product reviews removed
Getting BS sellers knocked off of Amazon by proving they are frauds

I’ve lost count on how many sellers I have personally caused problems for using SAS. Most never recovered after their listings were removed, or, more often, the BS they had in their listings, or the way they were set up was changed bc of the reports. It’s a lot of work / time / money but ultimately worth it.

I’m always watching… :eyes:

Sorry, newbie here. NSFE = New Seller Forum something?

Welcome to SAS!

NSFE is the New Seller Forum Experience. That is, the current Amazon forum. OSFE is the Old Seller Forum Experience.

I would second the welcome to the SAS, Leonard - which I believe you’ll find to be, as so many of us have in the 2 years of its existence, the BSFE:

@HobbesIsMyTiger @Dogtamer Thanks for the info & warm welcome! But now I’m even more confused. Are BSFE & NSFE both in the Seller Central Forums??? Amazon

BSFE is @Dogtamer’s name for this forum, not the Amazon forum. He just thinks we are the best. He isn’t biased or anything… :stuck_out_tongue:

@Dogtamer … do you have the link to the thread we did on here about acronyms?

Searched for it but couldn’t locate it ourselves.
