Today, I got this option to sign up for Amazon Shipping Ground. Where would I drop this package off if I were to ship it this way?
Bump because I donāt know.
@Amazon_Seller if you want me to move this to the public FBM for wider views, please let me know.
Thanks. I always post here because itās so cozy, but this might warrant a wider audience.
Done!
May I ask if you feel comfortable in sharing the URL for the āSign up nowā link?
I have the inkling of a notion that I know which Amazon Program it will lead to, but Iād like to be sure before I offer any advice.
I did not click it because I did not sign up now.
Understood - one never knows for sure whether or not this or that of Amazonās automated mechanisms might think that even tangential engagement with that and this āfeatured offerā constitutes grounds for continued beleaguering & badgeringā¦
I typically avoid that unhappy circumstance, when I wish to investigate further, by utilizing choices available from the āRight-click Context Menuā which allow me to record such a URL, rather than left-clicking on itās āembeddedā link displayed on this or that Seller Central Dashboard/Page - and thereby finding myself wending down yet another Amazon-built rabbit-holeā¦
Iāve been getting these lately.
Though it says from shipping.amazon.com
the link is ā¦go.pardot.com/e/844933/us-acq-email-73123-get-started/pwkkyp/1312360535?h=Bta5hAo3_ii0PaTy2TQu8TYzUlBRJABdAJTC6WLuOQs
We would guess either a local Amazon warehouse or maybe they will do as a pickup service. Trying to find something on Amazon Help for it but nothing so far.
But did find this ā¦
Amazon unveils deferred ground delivery service
In the email Sundance showed us it says āPick up from your warehouseā. I would guess its just going to be Amazon delivery drivers running around picking up to bring back to the local hub.
To be determined ā¦ article says ā¦
The website note did not provide details on how Amazon would manage the business. It does not provide pickups except on rare occasions.
Could be a volume requirement, designed for certain areas ā¦ as always with Amazon, details coming after sending out the variation forms of temptation.
And that fits both volume and local requirements.

Another announcement that smacks of desperation, IMO. Amazon built their own package delivery service but now donāt have the shipping volume to support it so are trying to recruit new customers under the guise of helping them.
You canāt get any information without starting the sign-up, which Iām not interested in doing, but hereās an article. Note that Amazon ādid not respond to multiple requests for comment.ā
I donāt really understand what possible benefit there could be in this. 3-5 day service is slower than USPS, so thereās no speed benefit. Itās roughly the same as UPS delivery times for farther distances, so again no benefit, unless itās much cheaper.
You would have to schedule a pick-up for an Amazon driver to come to your warehouse, and my guess is it would be a far less reliable pick-up service than any other carriersā pick-up.
When Amazon launched an invitation-only version of this service in 2017, that factor was apparently a bone of contention for many a participant, judging from what was posted in the ASF on the subject over the next year or two.
I recall our well-missed friend GoodSeller (aka goodseller_2483 after the switch from Jive to Discourse), among a few others, mentioning more than once being quite pleased with the service, but the majority of posts about it seemed to not share the same degree of satisfaction that s/he found.
A cautionary tale about this latest iteration just posted in the NSFE:

Why am I not surprised?
Thanks. Last night, Amazon Ground Shipping was the only Buy Shipping option for one of my orders. I have no idea why. My other orders were showing USPS (my default). I had to go to ShipStation.
Because youāre not an idiot?
Assuming this is the same Amazon delivery service they tried rolling out years ago then killed off, it sounds like nothing much has changed in terms of quality of service.
For the non-clickers:
Thatās certainly one way to drum up business.
As a non-clicker, I appreciate that!
A salient point very well-taken, my friend.
I shall endeavor to post an applicable quote of the NSFE post in the future.
