Anyone ever seen a "Tax Adjustment" in their transaction report?

Amazon hit me with a $30K “Tax Adjustment” today, categorized as “Other.” No explanation other than that, and submitting a help ticket seems to be pretty much impossible, these days. Can’t seem to get past the AI prompts.

For that amount of money, I would consider having a lawyer contact their legal department. If for nothing else than that you will need real documentation when it comes to tax time for this deduction.

Have you been able to open a case at all?

 And I’m asking this so that hopefully others can answer–is this something that might go through CUSTOMER support instead of seller support?

Yes, I finally got a case open. I had to act like my issue was related to something else, then at the very last moment, changed it by editing the title.

If I was vague in the prompts, it would say, sorry, we need more info. If I was specific in any way, it would say, oh, you’re asking about Amazon fees…please see these self-help topics. :man_facepalming:

I don’t know if it would need to go through Amazon customer support. I don’t really purchase anything from the main seller account, if that’s what you’re getting at.

And no, that K in the first post wasn’t a slip of the finger. It really is nearly $31,000 gone from my “available to disburse” funds in the blink of an eye. :sob:

Keep us posted on this please.

Good Luck

Exactly what we had to do … and then it went to a chat for 45 minutes … and then finally a case was created.

It was a bad before but Amazon has been able to out do itself with this new “help”.

Nah, that was just a possible workaround.

But you and @Lost_My_Marbles seem to be successful with the “support switcheroo” and I am here for it!:clap:

Got an answer on what it is. Without going into the details, it’s an error on Amazon’s end and will likely take me months to recover the funds.

We should all live that long…

Will Amazon also reimburse for incurred costs, lost income, and interest earned?

Seriously, I’m happy for you that Amazon owned their mistake and that you have a path to minimal recovery.

I never said Amazon owned up to their mistake!
