Brazil Strikes AGAIN - WTF

Account is locked saying our CC is invalid at the exact same time as Brazil gets added.

Is this what normally happens when they add brazil and wtf do I do about this? We only have 1 card for the business because yea…

Checked with Chase, card is in perfect working order - no issues.

Whole seller account? WTF!

yup. The difference is the account on the selling side is fine (listings are up). I just can’t do anything or see anything at the moment…

Sorry to hear this. Why is Brazil being randomly added to our accounts or did you request a Brazilian account?

At least you can ask your SAS to intervene, yes?

Almost every book I have ever shipped to Brazil got 'lost."

Among other things, Brazil customs, as I recall, can and will refuse to admit any and all USED goods.

How it is we can now look back on how competently Amazon was run when Jeff was still in charge?

Added without notice or request - like @Tried_Tested

It’s going to happen to all unified accounts.

Thanks for the quick answer. How can I tell if I have a, “unified,” account?

If you have mexico and canada too with the US in the dropdown on your homepage / desktop

I think most sellers do.

It will look like this (screenshot from my functional account)…

Amazon has been SLOWLY rolling Brazil out to all North American Selling accounts for a few years now. Looks like this is the final push

Looks like an email to your SAS manager CC’ing Jeff might be in order here. This Brazil roll out is so flawed.

OK… All good… My partner and I have our own CC’s for the biz and both were already on the account. I just selected his card for all marketplaces and it accepted it and unlocked the account. That may have happened if I selected my card as well, not sure. Didn’t want to eff around.

My assumption (thinking like Amazon does), is that they added the marketplace because who knows why, moved over the charge method on their own - but because we didn’t actually do or approve that, they locked it until we did. Just an assumption.

Mistake.

Just the SAS manager for now - but either they will update the credit card flaw or ASV will have to get another card (and hope that it doesn’t fail as well).

So fuqn stupid

Selling on Amazon since 2003, I think. eBay and half.com since 1998.

This is the email I got which prompted me to go on the account to find I was locked out:

Sent in Portuguese because, you know, I could read that…

Brazil was not there yesterday…

Mistake?

I assume this did not happen with you when you got brazil (this charge method nonsense)?

Also assuming there have been no changes / updates to your situation? :rage:

No this did not happen.

Whatever you do, do not message seller support about this.

Your SAS manager should be able to escalate that this is a really stupid bug and that they should open a bug ticket on this idiotic roll out.

Last we sent out messages to Escalations, Mods, Seller Help on Thursday - so far Mods and Seller Help responded by contacting the Support Team handling this (presumably not escalations and directly to presumably Amazon Developer Help) - so expecting a response tomorrow or Tuesday to tell me how long its going to take them to flip the switch but don’t wanna hijack this thread for my issue.

Fuqin ridiculous - I swear.

Mistake = I tried to copy and paste some info from my AZ account and it did not show up the way I wanted. Machts nichts.

I’m good. Got the account back up by selecting my partner’s card as the primary across the marketplaces. I just got off the phone with Chase. Zero issue with my card. It’s the same account…

This is too much of a coincidence with getting that email from .BR, and getting the marketplace added.

Will report this to SAS. Let’s see what they say.

The troubling thing about this is why does Amazon say there is something wrong with my card if it’s not brazil and what happens if the same thing happens to the other card?

I could add a personal card if I had to, doesn’t matter. Amazon only charged our CC once, when we signed up…

We are supposed to get paid tomorrow. I’m sure this BS is going to cause us to miss a disbursement. Nice effing timing Amazon.

No it shouldn’t stop disbursements - unless it says so. It will tell you disbursement payout date - if that hasn’t changed - nothing has changed.
