Brazil Strikes AGAIN - WTF

We have had Brazil added for sometime (a year +). When they started this push to put it on everyone, we got a notice that we had to add a deposit method to CA and MX but BR wasn’t mentioned. We went ahead and added to CA and MX … we checked BR and found a warning widget telling us we needed a deposit method. We haven’t added it and everything on .com is still running okay.

When this happened, we checked the cc to find out that it was added across the board … CA, MX and BR. We don’t remember ever giving permission or putting on those marketplaces as we do not sell on them.

Make sure you put BR on vacation.

Just wanted to post this for comments.

Years ago (maybe 2 or 3), my cc expired, and I updated it for the USA.

Never bothered to update for Canada and Mexico.

and to date - NEVER had an issue.

SHOULD I enter my card?

If you have no issue operating within Amazon in the way you want / need to, I wouldn’t touch a damn thing…

I had Brazil added last week, and got a warning about the CC. Put the Brazil marketplace on vacation, warning went away, and I got my payout as normal.

And like you, no notification of it happening. Don’t know what the result might have been had I not caught it within a few hours of it happening.

Just note that vacation mode may or may not be a permanent solution.

This recent adding of BR to accounts has also caused other marketplace notices to come out that needed to be addressed … and those marketplaces had been on vacation since they were added years ago.

So, why is anyone surprised that Amazon has a Brazilian problems with “account verification”?

Overall though this is still better than the NA Unified Account conversion, when they took our separate CA and US accounts and merged them.

I can’t recall when MX was added in, or if it ws there at the conversion, but I’m sure @Dogtamer knows.

I could shoot myself for not keeping a log of all this. in my defense though I didn’t imagine back in 2004 that I’d still be here 10 years later, much less 20.

The Mexican Marketplace launched in Q3 of 2013, so before the NaMU Initiative amalgamated them - which I believe began in 2015 (we’ve never been borged in that way, & still don’t have NaMU accounts, so I can’t say for sure when that first rolled out).

We have been here 12+ years and received CA and MX at the same time (probably pretty close to the time we started. BR was added before NSFE beta to us … so that has to be some where around 3 (maybe 4) years ago. At the time, we thought everyone was getting it also. We put it on vacation and forgot about it. It did first appear as part of the NA Unified Accounts for us and it wasn’t until recently (when all the complaints started happening over the adding to accounts) that we noticed things had changed to “Americas” with BR split out in some areas.

We never intended to sale on any of those marketplaces on Amazon. We use to sale to an oil company in Canada (indirectly) but the reward side wasn’t worth the hassles involved and so, in the end, we decided to just do USA sales.

I just checked and found Brazil on my store list

So I went to settings to put it on vacation and found this:

This looks like US is on vacation but it is active and I have never put it on vacation!
I did not edit and put Brazil on vacation yet either.

@primetime did you toggle your US account to make certain that it’s not on vacation? And have you had sales?

Some Sellers have indeed reported that their accounts have been mysteriously glitched into vacation without their knowledge, until they manually checked. :flushed_face:

I am getting sales, I have not toggled the setting ever. Since I am getting sales I am leary of triggering a stop if I do toggle it. Maybe it’s a roll-out anomaly that will get corrected.

I don’t know how long it’s been like that or exactly what day BR was added.
