Buy Shipping glitching?

I have one order came in this morning, the deliver by date is 12/9. I tried to purchase the label as soon as it came in and Amazon buy shipping also said USPS GA is “Late deliver risk”.

Did they know something about some zipcode/area that are taking longer to deliver, so that’s taking into consideration of what kind of label are offered?

It seems there are more of those “at risk” USPS GA labels today and probably going to be like this way until after Christmas. Almost like Amazon is trying to wiggle out of have to provide claim protection for the holiday time.

We just checked the 9 orders being shipped out tomorrow from over the weekend and all allow for USPS GA including the one order that the address doesn’t verify in USPS for a Zip+four.

We will print the labels tomorrow morning and see if anything changes.

I could purchase it without Buy Shipping guarantee, but why do that when buying it from USPS is cheaper? The only reason I pay more is for the guarantee.

The distance it’s going to a rather remote part of the country make me fairly certain that it will indeed be late. I hope you are right and I am wrong!

I was wondering this as well.

And on this, I hope you are wrong - but I bet you are right.

Oh for sure, cheaper is better without the guarantee. I was pointing out that it likely was not a verified address problem because there’s no option to purchase a Buy Shipping label for those.

Today I am not able to buy Ground Advantage for an address 4 states away from my location - getting ‘ship method not eligible for this order’.
Also this:
USPS Priority Mail® Flat Rate Envelope
Package dimensions failed to satisfy the constraints.

The item will absolutely fit in a flat rate envelope.

This is a free shipping order purchased yesterday. 10x9x3 - 7 oz package.

I bought a label from Endicia/Stamps for half the cost. Delivery estimate 3 days. Shipping window Mon, Dec 8, 2025 PST to Wed, Dec 10, 2025 PST

Trying to push me into AHT/SSA? Maybe.

Don’t have any FBM order today, so can’t say what the shipping label situation is today.

Yesterday I was able to buy a USPS GA label with late delivery risk. It was for an order going fr OR to FL, deliver by 12/11. USPS estimated delivery is 12/8 but Amazon was saying it could be later than 12/11. :frowning:

If Amazon won’t even offer USPS GA label with late risk anymore, guess I’ll have to buy the labels from USPS then confirm shipping on Amazon, when I get more FBM orders.

Me too.

I don’t know why they completely excluded GA today. Stamps showed 3 days for delivery. Yesterday I could buy it with late risk.

IMO … it has to be within the shipping settings (possibly Amazon playing around with manual parameters again).

We ship 100% USPS GA (less than 1lb) and have had no issues with labels this week.

We noticed when PayPal went to their own shipping that the input sizes are now limited to whole numbers. We use to be able to put in 0.375 for an envelope height and now have to put in 1 inch as the PayPal system only accepts whole numbers now (forcing the rounding up).

If Amazon is being required to do the same thing, then they may be playing with the code which could be some of the issues.

Could be round two push after everyone has figured out how to protect the Handle Time Gap less than 2.0 day trigger.

One should remember that USPS will be having changes in mid January. When ever Amazon tries to preprogram the changes, shipping seems to get glitchy every time.

I only ship GA (standard shipping) and all today and yesterday GA was available with no late risk. Several were cross country and even to Bomb Cyclone areas so maybe just a momentary glitch.

I really haven’t been in this mode for some time, I am shipping orders as they come in and not waiting till last ship day.

Probably this. If I tighten down my delivery windows, I will be more at risk of actual late deliveries especially during this season.

Both of you have set up “Shipping Settings Automation” & “Automated handling time”, right?

So, as @primetime said, maybe Amazon is trying to push sellers who are not set up for AHT & SSA into doing that by only offer USPS GA labels with late risk or not offering USPS GA labels at all.

Yes and “Standard” Shipping only

Now I cannot take the risk and buy USPS GA like I could when I started this thread.

Free shipping, just ordered yesterday!

Maybe they want to push us out of using Buy Shipping for the guarantee. Or they want to also push sellers away from USPS.

Could this be a USPS problem?
I cannot choose GA on Endicia/Stamps right now.

Can you purchase GA on USPS website?

When I went back to the order a while later, GA was available under more options with a late delivery risk. I took the risk and bought it through Buy Shipping.

I did not go back to see if it had changed on Endicia/Stamps.

There could be some code tampering in preparation for Amazon to drop USPS but that does not explain the unavailability on Endicia. Initially I thought their plan to drop USPS was for orders Amazon ships. But it probably makes sense that they will also drop it from Buy Shipping.
Or maybe the threat is just a negotiating tactic.

Just bought USPS GA on Amazon Buy Shipping and PayPal … no issue with either one.

We noticed your Shipping Service is Free Economy. Do you charge for Standard Shipping? If not, what is the advantage or purpose of using Free Economy setting over just using Standard Shipping setting?
