Buzzy in one of his awkward sleeping positions.
.
Hey, now - ya gotta keep a paw in position to swat a creeping mouse! ![]()
No mice in this house! Although he is young and very frisky. He loves to play with his toys and chase ping pong balls, feathers and many other objects. Buzzy Thunderpaws also runs up and down the stairs, jumps on beds and other furniture only pausing to rest on the window sills.
A mouse would be no match for him. ![]()
Ten pounds already! He’s going to be huge!
Buzzy is an adult and he only weighs 9.5 pounds. He’s always been rather slender.
As Huey Lewis and The News were wont to croon:
It’s The Power Of Love
Well done, mi compadre.
VERY well done.
Gingers tend to be on the bigger size. Our first one was 23lbs and enormous. Our last one was 18 at his peak.
The first one was so big because he wasn’t fixed until he was over a year old. He showed up at our doorstep one day and never left…
One of the many reasons why our vet recommends waiting as long as possible to spay / neuter is growth, especially in males. The other is to allow full urethra growth which generally prevents urethra crystals in the future.
Ollie is still “intact” and will be as long as possible. Right now, the plan is to take care of that in Nov when he’s 7 months old if he doesn’t get aggressive or starts spraying, we may delay it further.
We will continue to sing
“Who’s got big balls??? - Ollies got big balls”
LOL
Love it! I had two of these. No one ever rang my doorbell because the dogs could hear someone coming up the sidewalk long before they ever got to my front door. They always alerted me. ![]()
They’re beautiful pups. ![]()
And yes, my smaller dog had the better hearing. I swear he could hear a leaf fall off a tree three blocks away.
Love hearing about Ollie’s progress. Thanks for posting!
Different is good, I find this type of oddity very attractive.
It shows what love and good proper care can do.
Thank you for sharing.
Not so much fun with wild animals.
Got home from picking my son up from school to find Ollie hanging by his leg from a window blind string. Screaming, thrashing and hissing… Couldn’t get anywhere near him without getting cut to shreds with nails and teeth so I ran and got a scissor and cut him loose.
He seems fine and I think it just happened when we walked in the door and he was excited to see us and got off his perch watching the torrential rain.
I have no idea how this happened considering it was a single string with a knob at the end of it. Wow… I can’t believe we can’t write the word K N O B here (that’s what was censored above).
Anyway, very strange and I always think of kids getting into trouble with those strings. Just added pets to the list.
