Had an item attepted hijack, Seller support useless and can't get a mod to help

Amazon.com Seller Support

This is the escalation person who it seems I am stuck with

I got this too multiple times. I’m sure it was a bot reply, that was programmed to recognize the currently named brand as the legitimate brand.

My ordeal was last spring. I posted for Thelunatick in case he could glean any tips from my experience and to let him know that support said the violation report of the hijacker was a necessary step before they had the ability to act. Of course that may have changed by now.
With all the hijackers one would think there would be a process worked out, but then again who are we dealing with?
I meant it to be supportive of what he is going through, not an authoritative solution.

I am not participating in the NSFE so I cannot post there for him, trying to be helpful here.

Oh no! I am sorry for you.

a new team? That cannot resolve?

Assuming this was escalated using the escalation feature in the brand registry case log.

You do get stuck with the same person (good or bad).

That’s the same team that does the escalations for SAS. They aren’t great sadly

Oh I did not consider brand registry support. I have not registered my brand.

and SAS is not cheap, that is really sad.

It is really sad. Nothing is easy, you have to work really hard to succeed on Amazon. You need to be that really squeaky wheel that’s all buttoned up when making your point to get action. Even then it’s hard.

At the end of the day, Amazon is a game and your success is determined by how well you play it.

So interestingly enough, The ā€œsupportā€ agent just contacted me to ask if I contacted brand registry as he said.
I had and got a useless bot response.

Funny I though I violated Amazon policy by continuing to contact him. More likely the constant communication was a black mark on his record.

Seems like they’re hijacking some well known brands (Shrek??)

There is one thing I’ve done in the past with a problem seller that was selling knock offs using numerous accounts. I had no real ability to deal with the problem, but they were also selling knock offs of a big brand. I managed to get in touch with the law firm that deals with that brand’s IP and provided them proof that someone was selling knock offs of their client’s products. It took a couple weeks, but ALL of those sellers disappeared from all their listings.

Now, you might not have the power to get this brand suspended for their abusive conduct, but I’m going to guess that Dreamworks does.

Well we know they took notice because they updated their listing that the hijacker hit (which we pointed out) … but none of the other 3 we pointed out or yours (as of yet) …

That is kind of the way ours got settled (Amazon reached out after we exposed the hijacker on name brand listings as well as our listing).

Let’s hope this is what is happening for you now. :crossed_fingers:

Sadly no
Got the generic response.

And the support agent replied to my answer with the same template telling me he is reporting a violation to my account.

Based on what I am seeing on the forums the hijacking is happening in mass. Just in time for holiday sales.

If anyone is still on the New forums I would appreciate some posts

I am on the new bad forums. My apologies for not seeing this sooner.

It looks like @anon72228237 has found a bunch of posts already!

It seems like posts on the NSFE about hijacked listings is a constant thing nowadays, and I haven’t seen the mods post anything more helpful than to report it under abuse. I wish they had a real process in place to address this and help people regain control of their listings.

To be fair, such reports have been a staple of the ASF since Q3 of 2024, which was when the seasoned & savvy forum vets first saw clear evidence of the rise of an alarming trend, and began posting about it (remember the ā€˜scam-tracking’ threads created by @Debranator, @Rushdie, & @Jclee4 on the subject?).

The solution’s to make brand unchangeable no matter what. It’s simple but they don’t do it.

Some of us live in the present and have no knowledge of the future events of 2024 …

We do, however, remember a post A Plea to The Mods - Brand Hijackers that was very active back in 2022 which provided many with help up until NSFE kicked in and the process that was created on this post faded into history.

You beat me to it. I just figured that @Dogtamer has achieved Warp Speed…
