Have to reverify tor the Inform act but did it this year?

Anyone else?

I already did the verification, I don’t remember when but they asked for documents already provided to confirm my identity again.

I have limited access to seller central now because of it.

This makes no sense as we are just supposed to confirm there are no changes or make appropriate changes.

I just clicked to confirm what was already there and there was no issue.

Did you change something & that’s why they are asking again?

I’m with @Sundance since I just had to confirm no changes and had no problems (so far).

It’s Amazon so who knows what evil lurks. (Some old timers might recognize the reference…)

Our last one was click and submit. The one before we had to verify our address on the Canadian marketplace and put a credit card on the Brazilian marketplace. We don’t sell on either one but as soon as we did both we were fine on US.

Suggest checking CA,MX and BR.

The Shadow knows

absolutely nothing

That is what I did a few months ago. No idea why they need to verify my ID and bank again. they both say verification pending.

The shadow Do. Lets see who gets that refference

interesting I just got this e-mail

Hello The Lunatick Fire and EMS Store, Our records indicate that although we have asked for this information previously and provided multiple notifications within the selling experience to remind you of these requirements, we are missing information about your business that is needed to comply with the INFORM Consumers Act, which went into effect on June 27, 2023.

Why is this happening?
The INFORM Consumers Act places obligations on online stores, including Amazon, to collect and verify business information from high-volume third-party sellers who sell products in Amazon’s US store.

We are reaching out to sellers covered by the law to request business information, only where it is needed to complete additional verifications to comply with this law.

To learn more about the INFORM Consumers Act, please follow this link.

What steps do I need to take?
Go to your Account Health dashboard to see any information that we may need from you. Please make sure to submit the information without delay, because it can take several days for us to verify the information. The estimated time to complete your certification is 2 minutes.

What happens if I don’t take the required action?
If we do not receive the required information within 10 days of this email, the law requires us to temporarily deactivate your account until we receive this information. The law also requires us to re-verify this information every time it changes.

Please note that we may need you to provide additional information as required by the Act, and failure to do so could result in additional disbursement holds.

We’re here to help.

The Shadow do…

ETA:

Missed it by that much :pinching_hand:

I do remember that politically-incorrect joke from my childhood…

No idea what happened with my bank account but the last deposit went through. They now want a statement that is current.

Makes no sense whatsoever

I must have slept through that ‘politically incorrect/questionable’ one for some reason so I had to get it from a story in the LA Times –

“In a more sardonic vein, the surfacing of a joke in the 1970s based on the hero of the 1950s radio show, “The Shadow” (“Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow do!”), reflected America’s continued fascination with casting African Americans in shadow imagery.”

" In the 1970s, released from the inconspicuous corners where its imagery was hidden and obscured, black humor assumed a more prominent role in America’s social satire. Today, with its newfound exposure, it is perhaps more bold and belligerent. But not surprising, it still thrives on irony.

African American humor, after all, still sardonically amplifies the ‘70s vernacular joke: “Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?”

Indeed, “the Shadow do’ ” . . . and has for some time.*"

I would assert that The Times is behind the times, there.

I wasn’t a child in the 1970s; in my neck o’ woods, the joke surfaced in the 1950s.

Yeah, I WAS going to question the timing about the story after your childhood comment. All my kids were born in the '70’s and I was still drinking back then.

Since most of my relatives growing up were poor, white, dirt farmers scratching out a living I heard a LOT of jokes at the expense of a bunch of groups.

And having parents and relatives back from WWII brought some heavy prejudice with it as well.

We all lived through it and generally tried to change over time. But it evolves into other targets since it never actually goes away.

Now the way I was told it, Before TV the family used to listen to the radio shows of the 1950’s.
The Shadow being one of the more popular ones.
Back then everything was done live. One day the guy with the sinister voice who always said " Only the shadow knows." was sick and could not speak.
The radio show people (whatever you call them) did not have much time to find a replacement so they asked the janitor to fill in.

The janitor walks up to the mike when told, and instead of saying “only the shadow knows” in a sinister voice, says “the shadow do”

My mother and her parents told me they heard this live on the radio and it was hysterical because of how out of place it was.

I never heard of this as any kind of racial joke

Neither did I, primarily because whenever someone would say “Who Knows?” my late, sainted mammy (a very erudite & well-read woman, with perfect diction, was Eunice - who also happened to be a Black American, and who’d also cared for my Dad and his sister when they youngsters while my paternal grandparents were @ work) would gleefully chortle that phrase; it became something of a catch-phrase in similar situations for most all of my other elders as well.

Eunice did as much as my parents, grandparents, relatives, and (most of) my teachers to instill an admiration for Proper English, reading, and good speaking habits amongst every child she spent time with, including her own, and those of her brothers and sisters, so the slip in to dialect always tickled our funny-bones.

When we’d ask why, she explained the story you heard, as well, although she did not claim to have heard it herself.

Nor I. I was only aware of the old radio show – and didn’t know anything about that one episode.

We are going through the exact same. Bank statement submitted yesterday, for the account that they just sent a deposit to less than a week ago.

I am actually on the phone with seller support because the account is still saying I need to provide the information, but then is also says in processing.

Given the messages in Japanese, the ghost listings suspension and this I have a feeling they did something on the back end this weekend that really Fucke d things up

I think they are trying to get me to leave Amazon.

I am getting listing violations for “altering the item for sale on Amazon:” that are bogus and now they are rejecting the LOA
the inform consumer act is showing that all ID was rejected.

No idea what is going on but I have a feeling this will be my last year.

You’re not the only one. I got one of these for creating an ASIN years ago before the brand started being interested about Amazon.

I haven’t decided whether to appeal or not since it has no impact (according to Amazon). I do have a letter authorizing me full use of everything, including all their IP from back then but all the parties involved have left the company by now.

So they rejected my bank statement

Now they rejected my RealID Drivers license.

I wish I knew what was really going on.
