A cool thing about Brazilian culture is they shower multiple times a day.

I wish that was the case with some of the people we encountered in Spain.

We went to visit out son who was doing his Junior year abroad and ended up taking a train to do some sightseeing. My wife made me switch seats because the odor from the woman in the seat across the aisle was literally making her nauseous.

Fortunately (I think) I had gotten a broken nose when I was a kid and it did a serious number on my ability to smell things so it wasn’t an issue for me.

It was one of our many ‘interesting’ trips – while we were there Timothy McVeigh and his friends decided to blow up Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. It was April 19, 1995. Hard to believe that was 30 years ago and we never hear about it any more.

I thought we would have a very difficult time getting on a plane to get home but there was virtually no change in procedures. Those didn’t kick in until after 9/11…

1995, that was most of my life time ago

Yeah, if your knees and back don’t hurt yet you have so much to look forward too…

Maybe not so much “Lighten Up” … but …

I had an Inspire put in this AM. I knew about the chest, but somehow NOT the neck. LOL

(I had to take out the nipple rings for surgery …

But you’ve got your Frankenstein ('s monster) costume locked up for Halloween! No make up or special effects needed. :winking_face_with_tongue:

My apologies for not being more forthcoming … lol.

Inspire is used to help those with Sleep Apnea who can’t tolerate a CPAP or such. I tried for about 1.5 years and could never get use to the CPAP. I finally quit using it.

Recently a friend got the Inspire and I looked into it myself. I qualified and am taking the chance it will help as SA can be a life ender if not treated.

Thanks for the explanation. I had not heard of an Inspire, so had to Google it. Hope it works well for you!
Local or general?

Let us know how it goes. I have mild sleep apnea (snoring) - especially since I’m on HRT (thickens neck muscles, but precise cause is unknown) but also probably need a sinuplasty coupled with Maxo facial correction to improve airway canal. Inspire seems interesting.

Anyone who is not aware is obviously NOT a Packers fan. Hall of Famer Reggie White died when he was only 43 years old and PART of his death is attributed to sleep apnea.

Maybe our mods can initiate a separate section for health issues, and give it a humorous name, or perhaps incorporate into the home maintenance and car repair thread.

Does anyone want to hear about my recent…

I had thyroid surgery this past summer so I have a neck scar too although mine is a little lower than yours.

My ex-husband had sleep apnea. He snored very loudly. And he flailed his arms and legs around in his sleep. And he would also grind his teeth in his sleep.

I ended up sleeping on the couch most nights. It was the only way that I could get any decent rest.

We have seen in movies that a well placed pillow will often solve this issue.

He passed away 15 years ago so has solved the snoring problem himself.

On the nights that he made the most racket, he would wake up in the morning and comment how well he had slept.

We got a bed that we can adjust the head up … solved the snoring for both of us. The wife had been eyeballing getting extra pillows but I felt safer getting the adjustable bed.

Hopefully not controlled by an app that uses AWS! I heard about one brand of bed that over-heated during the blackout, because the app couldn’t connect, and beds went to default!
