There is not a link in the dashboard …yet. I suppose that is soon to come but for now it is a link posted by Dave on the Makerplace facebook group.
OK. Guess I’ll bookmark the link for now. Thanks for posting it here for us non-Facebooker.
Never mind. It logged me out overnight.
Yeah, sometimes it keeps me logged in for a few days as well. I wish we could disable the verification code…even though they do have the option to turn it off. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work.
I noticed that one of my items shows up as a best seller for that category it’s listed under. I haven’t sold one thing on MakerPlace!
I have not gotten any orders at all on MakerPlace. Today, I got a request for an estimate for a giant order. How does MakerPlace protect us should this go south? Are they better or worse than Amazon?
I would most likely think anyone wanting a large order is a scammer. Makerplace has been the worst for scam messages, I’ve received several and the Facebook group is full of them.
Was that request ask you to email the person outside of MP? If so, that kind of spam message has been going on MP for a while. I just received one today too, same email address as one I received e few months ago, but with a different name for the sender of the message. Both time, they stated they wanted to order more units than what I have listed, I just added the inventory on the MP, and told the person to make their purchase on MP. Nothing happened afterwards.
It seems like reporting this kind of message to MP didn’t do anything to stop them.
Is coming from Martha or Mrs. Schalow by chance?
It’s probably a scam. Sorry. Anything offering to make payment off of MP is a scam for sure.
Mayschallow and FetterlyWendyJean operate under so many different names. Anything referencing an email similar to those names are a scam.
This group of scammers circle around every couple of months and the clue is they ask to make a large purchase off-site. Ignore their messages. You don’t want to be on their radar as someone likely to respond.

Thanks. My reply to them was they could purchase through MakerPlace.
the spam mails stopped for a few weeks but now they’re back. Today’s head-slapper — Mrs. Spam wants to order a pair of rhodochrosite earrings in 5 different colors. Umm, does she want strawberry pink or strawberry pink? Or strawberry pink? Annoying and stupid, all at the same time.
I just got one requesting 3 different products today.
It’s been 6 days since I’ve had an order on Makerplace. It seems like in my category, Makerplace has prioritized Personalized and ALiExpress
QUICK NOTICE
In Jan 2025 you will be billed for a professional fee of $110.00 or you will need to elect to set your store to the free plan or close your store.
I’ve put my store on Time away (vacation mode) until Jan 31, official reason, unofficial reason, to pull my accounting reports to be sure I have everything and then shut down my Michael;s store.
I will be doing this for Etsy and Amazon later in the month,
Why is there no profit? I will concentrate on my website until I officially can sell or close my business in the next 2 years.
Michael’s has worked for me but is definitely on the decline until they sort out many issues. Hopefully they will lose some of the Aliexpress sellers with the subscription but I’m doubtful this will happen as long as they continue to showcase Temu priced non Handmade product.
I made around 8k last year which is enough to warrant keeping it open.
Until this new review nonsense. My customer wants to change it but of course can’t figure out how. ![]()
The only difference between a free account and a normal account is a 2 percent referral fee and the chance to be featured. I highly doubt this will curb the importers/resellers at all.
I’ve had the professional account the whole time and have been “featured” once in a product carousel a year ago and it did nothing to bring me sales. I should have an expert seller badge and bestseller badges according to the definition of those badges but I doubt it would help anyway.
In my opinion there is no adequate reason to pay for a professional plan on this platform. There will not be a mass exodus of sellers because there are no limits with the free plan.
They have shown they are fine to promote people who import goods simply because the seller has a high following on a social media platform.
There seems to be a lot of favoritism and I see it in the Facebook group as well. The recent giving away of gift cards to “random” sellers but looks more like they were given away to top sellers. There was no official announcement of gift cards being given away, just people suspicious of the gift cards maybe being a scam, but a lot of people chiming in the comments asking why people got gift cards and others didn’t and no official comment others then it’s not a scam. ![]()
I know I’m not a favorite and I never will be because I’m highly critical about everything on the platform, but it comes with having over a decade of knowledge about what works and what doesn’t work, what sellers need, etc
All Michael’s had to do was be a decent platform actually promote handmade, yet their whole campaign has been “we’re not like the other guy (Etsy)” and if the election taught us anything, you can’t just say your better without actually demonstrating how your better.
Well, that’s good news! Has she tried contacting support to have them change it for her or tell her how?
Or month-to-month for $9.98.
My sales there over the summer were great. Considering that, my Christmas sales were blah there. I sold a lot of anniversary gifts so I’m hoping when wedding season hits things will pick up there again. I’ve been told I’m going to be featured on the homepage next week, so we’ll see how that goes. I’m not holding my breath, but a boost of any kind would be welcome.
