They kept emailing me that mine was missing and it is not, and has not been blank. Annoying
I use to get those too. Check the format of the number, or just reenter it and save.
These are the valid formats according to Amazon.
So with (+1)5675551234 it might take it, but you might get the notice, which is what I have had for some time and why I suspect I get that notice from time to time.
my emergency contact number is missing (and shall remain so).
Mine too. I never willingly give Amazon a way to contact me unless * I * need to talk to them for some reason. I’ve never provided the emergency contact number, because then they’d use it to contact me for a whole bunch of non-emergency issues. No thank you.
Anything that would be an actual emergency would show up in Account Health or somewhere else, so no need for them to have my phone number at all. None, nope, nada.
You’re 100% correct. They call me to ask me to review my performance notifications when I get an item that gets a lot of returns, like I’m not aware that I’m getting boxes in the mail.
One of the advantages of working out of an office, I can give them the office number. If it’s that important, leave a message and I’ll call back. Oh… I see it’s not that important. Good to know.
Just to update on my own verification.
I double checked my Legal Identity and Tax info in Seller Central
I took cell pics of my drivers license (front & back pics - no merging into a file is needed for this process) and uploaded each
I downloaded a PDF statement from my Chase CC (because it shows my full legal name) and saved to my laptop. Normally I would say to use a printed statement but I wanted to test it out myself.
I uploaded that downloaded statement into the verification process
I submitted
This was all yesterday, and today it was reviewed and approved. Listings are again live.
As a side note, I did expect my downloaded PDF to work since it was direct from a large CC Company, but it was good to confirm.
Is this happening because of so many posts awhile back in the Amazon Seller Forums OG asking about selling their accounts to random strangers? IDK, but I have a hard time imagining anyone buying up a bunch of older accounts that are low volume and/or nearly dormant for ‘legitimate’ reasons.
I suspect it was because so many older accounts are missing data that was added and required for newer sellers. I know mine was missing a lot.
This move though will likely slow down the selling part, or at the least flag many accounts that are basically dormant (until sold).
I just got mine.
Does the person who does the video verification have to be the owner of the account? My account is owned by our company, business license, eid, whole nine yards. The account was created before I joined the company so I have to figure out what is needed.
Yeah, if only that person would deal with this…
I know I need their ID, but do they need to be on the call? Or can I do it with their information?
I don’t believe so, but I can’t say for sure.
I didn’t watch all of the video to see if they mention it for businesses.
That’s a hard no I believe. There were people on the OSFE trying to verify accounts as VA’s and such and got rejected. In theory a legitimate employee is not a VA and has a connection with said entity but that would be an extra step which amazon may or may not accomodate.
Whomever is the shareholder of the entity is the person that would be the person on the video verification is my best guess.
Ultimately, you can try it any other way, but I wouldn’t risk it.
All the best.
I can’t imagine any of the VA’s having the actual sellers ID on hand.
Maybe maybe not…but in theory a contractor if under contract from a company should be able to verify whatever information they have. Similarly, my lawyer should be able to verify the entity and my credentials as well, but would that work? Either way, I wouldn’t risk it.
In a perfect (normal) world you would be correct, however, I don’t live in such a world. In practice, getting Amazon to accept my business information all in other people’s names may be easier than getting the requisite people to do this themselves.
Yah that’s rough. Let u know what happens. All the best!
Yup, I just got an e-mail half an hour ago, after 9 years I guess they figured they should check in Went through and loaded my doc, says I have limited access now, but continues on to say I can do business as usual
Looks like all my listings are up and running. Buy Box and all…
Kinda funny that yesterday, for the first time in well over a year, I contacted support and today I get reverified
Got the e-mail on Friday. Rather annoying; no notice at all in Seller Central; we have two people who see the e-mails that go to that account, and STILL almost missed it (stuck in the middle of “Ship Now” notices).
Bad enough to have to go through it, but I feel for the guy who doesn’t see the e-mail until too late. Why on earth would there not be a notice when we log on?
On the bright side, still get mailed bank statements; opposite of others, our bank is so small that I don’t think it’s even an option to not get them!
I’m not even sure who this would be…
Sigh.
