So, I have not gotten the email to reverify yet… knock on wood.
However, I’ve got some issues and I’m hoping you might provide some insight:
Issue 1: As I am an S-Corp on Amazon my legal entity does not provide for me to put in a person’s name, only my company. The same with address - only company is in there.
Issue 2: I have a slight difference in my address on my legal entity/amazon address vs my bank statement - the word “South” on legal entity/amazon address and abbreviation “S” on bank statement. I don’t believe I can change the bank statement “S” as that’s how the post office formats the address.
My legal entity/amazon address is:
Company Name
123 South Main St #123
Anytown, NJ
My bank statement is:
Company Name
123 S Main St #123
Anytown, NJ
Issue 3: My state, NJ, does not provide a business license. I do get a proof of an annual filing document for my business, but I only have a hardcopy in black and white.
Issue 4: My utility bills are in my other company’s name
Issue 5: My legal entity/amazon address is a UPS store box and my utility bills use our warehouse address which is different
Issue 6: As our account is treated by Amazon as an S-corp we have no personal name registered as the legal entity and as mentioned the address only has our company name, not personal name. However, the buyer profile name is not me or my wife. Was too afraid to change it years ago when posts came out about accounts getting shut down for problematic verifications and I was terrified to trigger it so I never changed the buyer’s profile name. Should we change the buyer profile name to me or my wife before going through reverification?
My emergency contact number is also “missing” for the same reasons. The funny thing is, when I had to do the two-step login, they sent me a code by text. They already have that number so why can’t Amazon connect the number with “emergency contact”? The different departments within the Amazon organization are not working together.
In Business Address I have my company as the first line.
Are you saying make the first line the name of the person who is showing their id? Doesn’t that display that person’s name on the seller’s detail page on Amazon? Trying to make sure our personal names don’t have to go on the Amazon public facing page.
It didn’t do that with mine; this is what shows:
The Business Name; Whatever is under Legal Entity
Business Address: It appears just to pull and display the address part of what is entered under the Business Address section under Account Info.
I have my name, business name, and address under Business address entered, and only the address part is showing. You can double-check your Storefront a few hours after you have done it; you can always edit and change it back after verification.
On a side note: If you go to Business Address > Add a new address at the top, you will see Select an address on the top right (instead of adding a new one). If you click on that, you will see all the addresses that you have saved under your Amazon.com customer account and can select one of those to use. I found this to be an easier way to do it, add the address you want to your Amazon.com customer account first and then select it as your preferred address for your seller account.
It’s been a while since I did it, but I remember it when I was trying to add a new address; it was giving me issues, but it may be fixed now.
I don’t remember when I last updated my business address, but there is only one line for me to enter either a personal name or company name. How did you get both of yours in there?
It looks like this in my business address now:
Acme Paper, LLC
United States
123 South Main St #123
NJ / City Name
Zip Code
Phone Number
Did you make yours like this:
John Doe - Acme Paper, LLC
United States
123 South Main St #123
NJ / City Name
Zip Code
Phone Number
I have my Company Name and first name on the first line. Company att: Rowena
But for verification purposes, remove the Company name and add the first and last name how it appears on the Gov. ID. The Name should not show up on your Storefront, this is just to get around the LLC issue, and then you can change it back.
Not sure if you saw this..🠋
Add the new address to your address under Amazon.com first and then select it in Seller Central.
I see that list! Thank you. To get an address on the list “organically” I am thinking I can buy and ship something cheap to the personal name / business address that I want to use. That will cause the name/address configuration to be an option as a workaround to the LLC personal name issue. This is just in case it causes an issue for me when I try to “add a new address” instead of selecting from the drop down.
Edit - I can go into “Your Addresses” on the buyer’s side and add the address there without having to do an order.
I wonder if it’s necessary to change on the buyer’s side Manage Your Profile > Active Profile > Account Holder Name to match whoever we choose to verify our id or just leave it alone as is even though it’s neither one of the company officers.
I don’t think it’s necessary; just add the name as it appears on the ID and then select the address in Seller Central. Once you’re verified, change it back to the Company name.
It appears that the Veteran accounts are easier to get verified as long as everything matches so it should go smoothly, please keep us posted.
In NJ it is a 10 digit registration number that comes on your annual filing notice and you also receive it when you incorporate. It can be seen on the NJ’s state website next to a business name when you do a business name search.
If you can access your bank statement, bill, etc. they almost always have a print option. So execute a print. When the printer dialog box opens, you should be able to click on the box that has the printer name and you’ll find a PDF option there to ‘print to PDF.’ Voila - it’ll save as a PDF for you to easily upload.
In the past when the auto denial was sensitive and trigger happy, @oneida_books and others recommended printing a hardcopy out, then scanning and saving the scan as a pdf. Is there any risk with still doing this, provided we print and save in high quality color?
Our utility bills opened as a PDF in either the browser or Adobe. We simply saved (the entire bill … all pages) as a PDF if it was Adobe and used the Microsoft print as PDF function if it was in a browser. We had no problems with either being accepted.
