Received today. So…mystery solved? The item is not actually in stock, evidently. The bizarre “2 days after ship” was evidently the right (only) choice, and I “chose poorly,” despite the Amazon glitch(?) showing it in stock.
TLDR: I was in Amazon’s Upside Down and didn’t know it. Looks like @GGXcalled it.
But why in the world did it take 3+ days to figure it out, on Amazon’s end?
I will say my recent experience - I buy everything prime and expect 2 day delivery since a lot of my plans revolve around getting my shyte and then not being there after I do.
Recently purchased supps expecting 2 day delivery only to realize next day that there was a delivery window and it wasn’t prime. So still 2-4 days before the expected delivery I ordered an alternate brand so I could get it within 2 days and chatted with customer service - they said they would message the seller on my behalf - seller comes back next day and say they can’t cancel the delivery since the package has already shipped and that I could just stop delivery - I live behind a gate and ain’t chasing after a delivery man especially when I’m not around. I chat with customer service and they insist that the seller has not responded. I correct them twice and tell them, they did but they couldn’t cancel the shipment but that the item would be sitting out for 2 days and that would be a waste. They put me on hold and open an A2Z claim saying the seller didn’t resolve the matter.
Now as average consumer I wouldn’t even know what the heck that is but since they already did it, I want to see if the claim is approved cuz that is some wicked assshit.
“Nov 22, 2023 11:59:00 PM - - Pickup shipments are successfully transported and accepted by Fulfillment center.”
Apparently I shipped my products in one of these
That looks exactly like a shipment that was just checked in. Check in 2 days and I bet it goes down to 2 days.
Amazon is hammering sellers that don’t have a ton of inventory at FBA with long delivery times which will probably be the final nail in my slower accounts coffin.
I’ve got a listing with 1500 units at FBA and it’s 2-3 days across the country. In this category, that doesn’t work. My other account where listings have 5K-15K units at FBA, it’s Prime Same day.
My SAS manager had a meeting with a SME in FBA inventory to figure out exactly how much inventory we need at FBA of our slower sellers to get same day / next day Prime. If she actually comes back with the correct number, and it works, that would be very helpful and worth the $… I have a call with her next week to go over this and other things. Will report back.
You need a thick skin and a firm disregard for risk management to sell with FBA in super-competitive categories because it’s either tons of inventory or bust…
Chains? You have CHAINS on your ceiling fans? What is this, the 14th Century? My ceiling fans go on and off of their own accord, responding to variations in temperature and humidity from multiple sensors, all fed into a “Hubitat” controller, which runs a program that keeps the conditions comfortable for us, but moist enough for the near rainforest jungle of houseplants my wife keeps. This delicate balance is only possible with technology like both air and soil moisture meters, zoned heating, and so on.
GOD FORBID I TURN ON A FAN - I MIGHT KILL A PLANT!
My wife and I bought a ceiling fan 10 years ago, and over the years built in light got dim. We replaced the bulb and it was still dim. One day our 8 year old comes in grabs the remote to turn on the fan and the light goes full bright again.
We jumped up in amazement and asked what combination of buttons he pressed. To his chagrin he said “duh, you just press and hold the light bulb button down”. For years we simply pushed the light button and never held it down.
Over half a decade of not using the light because we didn’t read the instructions.
Old fans with chains are like old people, you have to yank them harder to turn them on.
I would default to “location, location, location” except each of these separate orders, on different days, haven’t even left whichever of Amazon’s FBA warehouses.
My wife read this and said “Well bless his little heart … he must be special”.
It use to be 2 days, then 3 days, then 4 days, then 5 days and now we just expect under 2 weeks.
The deliver in 2 days seen on the detail page when ordering changes out by the time you get to place order page. 2 day delivery begins when the item reaches the local distribution warehouse.
On the bright side, Amazon delivery vehicles don’t clog our roads up.
