Make it make sense (FBA delivery to Buyer)

Do an inquiry as to where’s my item for each item that hasn’t shipped.

But I can’t.

Because they haven’t shipped.

It’s not an option.

Plus these notices (and the emails):

The orders were probably tied to a specific FC. When they went to pick them, they weren’t actually there. That’s my new guess.

These new orders will be assigned to another and I bet you get them faster.

Let’s see what happens

This is probably what the seller of your item sees.

Yup a million things could have happened. Transfer truck broke down in the middle of Utah, order got put on wrong truck, order lost on conveyor to another dimension, Ed bribed someone at Amazon to make all shipments a few days late for some buyer accounts, inventory was expected on X date at receive center but UPS put it on another trailer, UPS driver with inbound inventory decided to watch the Nothern Lights due to the coronal mass ejection, and smashed into a bus load of Scientologist Nuns…

FYI - FedEx SmartPost is no longer handed off to USPS** - it gets delivered with FedEx ground or home delivery. It’s technically renamed to FedEx Ground Economy, but FedEx is taking their sweet time updating their software, labels, and website. It is still slower than ground or home delivery, but is also cheaper than either of those.

**There is about 2% of the country that is still handed off to USPS, because of location.

Definitely understand as well! I recently ordered some supplies for work. Had someone ask about them weeks later - only then did I realize they still hadn’t shipped. I finally canceled the order a month after placing it, and over 3 weeks past the expected delivery date. Still have no idea what happened. Ordered elsewhere instead.

We know … however, my wife orders clothes out of a company that ships out of Indiana and they still ship using either FedEx SmartPost or Pitney Bowes and both get switched over to USPS in the Dallas / Fort Worth area with delivery through post office. Here is one that went to our daughter.

As you can see, that was just last week and FedEx SmartPost to USPS delivery.

Daughter is in Ohio and we are in Texas … not sure if it is by % or just by a company contract with FedEx as this company has shipped this way for years.

Crazy - our rep told us that it’s only handed off to USPS in very remote locations, where FedEx doesn’t routinely have a truck going and/or it would get delivered to a PO Box because of the remoteness. I’m going to ask him more about the parameters!

We’ve been using it for two years now for small packages, and haven’t seen any get handed off to USPS.

Daughter get USPS delivery to the house … and FedEx and UPS deliver to her also.
We get FedEx and UPS to the house but the mail goes through USPS PO Box. All mail to our street address is delivered to the USPS PO Box. Our house address has a zip + four zip code which doesn’t normally happen when you get mail through a PO Box. Not everyone in town has a zip + four but several of us do. Go figure …

Delivered this morning after early a.m. hand off to USPS.

USPS is not the problem.

My location is not the problem.

Again, this was ordered (and shipped, and delivered) after the two delayed-ship orders.

ETA: Just checked on the two delayed-ship orders from March 18 and March 20. They have now been combined into a single shipment and have a delivery date of this Thursday but not updated tracking (yet?).

My guess here. The package with both orders was packed, labeled but never scanned onto a truck, so the entire package is “lost” under a belt in an FBA warehouse.

And this is why not everyone should be an Amazon seller. Because the seller probably got a message like this…

Amazon makes commitments to customers before they have stuff on hand and sellers can and do make lots of mistakes resulting in exactly what you are experiencing.
Amazon has picked up this trick from the Airlines selling seats they don’t have expecting some people to cancel, and in this case inventory to be available.

Probably waaay too soon for this type of humor, but oh well.

To update: My March 20 order arrived.

To clarify: Below is my usual experience when an order is all FBA items (ordered just now)
