Self-scan kiosks at UPS or FedEx?

Does anyone know if other kiosks (UPS and FEDEx) count as scanned by Amazon?

Hi @Amazon_Seller, I moved your question to its own topic for visibility.

Thank you.

I have no clue.

Our UPS store does not have one.

And I never use FedEx

I doubt it since they donā€™t count the SCAN Form scans as being ā€˜acceptedā€™.

Itā€™s just as easy to scam a scan at UPS as it is at one of the PO self scanners.

I know itā€™s just as easy to scam, but I wasnā€™t sure if it was accepted by Amazon. Thatā€™s all I care about. I donā€™t scam anyone; I just donā€™t want something to be late when itā€™s not late.

I think @dwat0870 was referring to Buyer scams via kiosk.

Are you talking about dropping off your shipments and using those kiosks?

I print out my labels using my Stamps/Endicia/Dazzle system for UPS. They are almost always several dollars less than what Amazon has for prices.

I walk in, cut the line, and put the ready to go package on an empty counter and leave.

It gets scanned by the UPS Store staff so that they get paid and then a couple hours later as being on the way at the Distribution Center.

No problems.

Yes, those kiosks.

Iā€™ll try again since it was a two part question ā€“

Are you talking about dropping off your Amazon shipments that you are sending out?

If it is those I donā€™t understand how they would help.

From what I have seen at my local UPS Store those kiosks are used for Amazon RETURNS. The people come in and scan their return label and then put the returns in the bin for UPS to pack up and ship out.

They may have full self service kiosks like the PO but they havenā€™t reached my small suburban store yet as far as I know.

Besides, I know for a fact that using my Stamps/Endicia/Dazzle system costs a LOT less than what I would pay either with my own UPS account (now dormant due to Stamps) and certainly way less than buying over the counter at the UPS Store.

I just pack, print, and, drop it on the counter and leave!

Maybe Iā€™m just not understanding what you are trying to do!

Iā€™ve been refusing to use those things, since I want a live person to scan my measly one or two packages, but I know that at the FedEx one, they ask if I have a label. When I do, they tell me to use the kiosk.

I did have them use the kiosk to scan my packages at UPS. I want them to scan it at the counter, but the counter help was using the kiosk, so I had no choice. I think they want me to use the kiosk for regular packages.

In any case, it should go into the system no matter which one you use and mine show an additional scan at the depot once the truck gets back there the same afternoon/evening.

Iā€™ve only had one case when a package I dropped on the counter did NOT get scammed by the staff. It was scanned three hours later at the distribution depot.

The staff always wants to scan the labels otherwise they donā€™t get paid for handling the items!

Youā€™ll be covered on Amazon either way.

Yeah, and THIS is why I use templates as often as possible.

ā€œLiveā€ typing is not one of strong suits. That should read scanned but those ā€œMā€ and ā€œNā€ keys are so close together. The keyboard is OBVIOUSLY poorly designedā€¦ :sob: :sob:

I have never used one.
Do those kiosks give you an opportunity to scan the package as ā€œdropped offā€ and can you print a receipt? If so, then I would say YES.

Remember, all packages that are picked up (which should be daily) are then scanned at their first destination which should be a UPS hub.

If still in doubt take them to a UPS store or drop off point where they can be scanned for you while you wait and get a receipt.

The kiosks are at the UPS Store. The workers try to encourage us to use them instead of going to the counter, much like what happens at USPS.
