this just happened around 2 hours ago, I found this out because I am copying order details and suddenly found out that buyers did NOT pay any shipping free.
Am I the only unlucky one having this system issue ?
*** correction: I thought all listings have free shipping but after more checking : those with other competitors, I still see shipping fee, but if I am the only seller in the listing, then free shipping is applied.
if there is more than 1 seller in such asin, then I assigned template A and all these listings are unchanged,
but if I am the only seller in such asin, then I assigned template B to it…2 hours ago, Amazon changed all these to free shipping. Inside each asin, I still see template B being assigned correctly, BUT what I see in inventory page and what buyers see, all became $0 and free shipping.
so, only listings with shipping template B (I am the only seller) were changed by Amazon. I just logged in my account to find this out after seeing orders with free shipping.
yes, i checked all templates, they are correct. I did not do anything until 1 hour ago just to prepare orders. So, never touch shipping templates today until I realized free shipping issue.
I even lowered shipping fee by 1 cent to try to see if this works but no.
Check to see if somehow Amazon set your shipping to SSA.
Amazon likely set your shipping charge to $0.00 due to Shipping Settings Automation (SSA) activation, a system migration glitch, or an automated replacement order.
Causes for $0.00 Shipping
SSA Activation: Amazon or an integrated tool may have automatically turned on Shipping Settings Automation, which can override your custom templates with free shipping.
Replacement Orders: If a buyer requested a replacement for a damaged item, Amazon automatically issues a $0.00 merchant-fulfilled replacement order.
Steps to Fix It
Check Settings: Go to Settings > Shipping Settings in your Amazon Seller Central account to verify if your templates were altered or if SSA is enabled.
Update Templates: Edit your shipping rules and change any $0.00 rates back to your preferred per-item or weight-based charges.
Secure Account: Review your user permissions and change your password if you suspect unauthorized changes.
Did you recently connect a third-party app like Veeqo?
update:
online chat with seller support from 10pm to 11:30 pm yesterday, chat with 4 associates, finally told me to wait for email.
then today, template is working correctly now. So, it was indeed a glitch.
solution: need to chat online for quite long time before my case can be transferred to specific team.
So many things are broken on Amazon right now. It’s impossible to create a Parent/Child listing without encountering soooo many errors. And then waiting 48 hours to find more problems with the listing. I have wasted hours recently on this for what used to be a simple process. And all support can tell you is delete the listing (with reviews and sales rank) and try again. WTF!
Are your templates still working correctly? We are experiencing this same issue since Saturday and people have posted on the NSFE about the same. Some sellers said it fixed itself but then reverted back to the wrong amounts.
When you turn on SSA, you create a new template for SSA and assign the items that you want to that template. That template can be set with shipping prices. If you run multiple SSA templates for different types of ASINs, then the shipping price can be different for different types of ASINs. A SSA template could be set up for $0.00 shipping costs. You can also have different pricing for different services … economy, standard, expedited, etc.
When you have SSA enabled, the pricing is from the SSA template as it is the template that you have assigned your ASINs to.
Override may not be the best term to describe it but SSA enabled doesn’t pull shipping pricing from the original shipping template that one set up prior to using SSA.
Yeah, it’s not this as SSA has been enabled forever on this template with zero issue. Only 1 of the 5 templates we use are affected (but that also accounts for 95% of our listings) and all 5 have SSA enabled.
Something happened Friday night because all orders started shipping free on Saturday and other sellers have posted about this same issue (with a mod saying he was looking into it).
Don’t you loose a $1.00 on the first item? (which is better than the $0.00 shipping glitch).
Has anyone tried raising to $6.99 1st item and then do $0.50 for additional items?
My error. I forgot the toggle to switch between pounds and per item is down actually where you change the shipping rates, not at the very top where it has the circular button that says “per item/weight based” next to rate model.
I just tried your suggestion of the $1 dollar less on shipping but adding it back in on the per item basis. Will see if this updates here correctly in the next few hours and fixes all of my existing ones.
