Just an FYI, my Fedex guy told me today that starting March 4th, they will not be delivering anything from China or Canada if the tariffs are not paid.
I had 4 suppliers tell me yesterday “price increases Monday due to tariff’s”
Not quite sure how they will know this, Unless there is some sort of stamp on the box or flag on the tracking number
He didn’t give me details, but they had an hour-long meeting today in reference to it.
The tariffs have to be resolved before being released at point of entry. Ain’t no way it’s getting in unless they are paid.
Just passing along what he told me.
I know…not shooting the messenger
…pew pew pew…'merica!!! ![]()
I just spent $154K to buy up the inventory on hand of a popular item at one of my suppliers warehouses pre-tariff, just to screw my competitors and to show my supplier I play the cash game. I don’t even want them to ship it, I just paid for them to store it and put a post it note on the inventory that says “Sold”.
The interest rate is less than the tariff, and its not like we are going to stop selling them soon.
Another great test of whether a policy can be enforced.
While we can all argue about about the merits, what will actually happen to the thousands of packages from Canada, Mexico, or China which lack customs declarations when they arrive in the U.S.? What will happen to those with a customs declaration, marking them as gift?
Government employees will decide, and their actions will dictate whether anything will be collected.
When something happens, some of us will be aware of what it is.
I have no basis for a prediction as to what the people on the front lines will do.
Thanks for the heads up @Tvoi. I guess this also goes for packages already in receiving warehouses but not yet out for delivery–not only entering packages?
They shouldn’t back date … if in the warehouse prior to tariff being enacted, then it should go through.
Showoff
- This is the internet, that can be photoshopped or a cut and paste from the interwebs.
- Just like a brawl, urinary olympiad, money, business, hot husband/wife etc, cars, house, there is always someone bigger/better.
- I would assert there are many here who out sell this company.
- I will not trade my lack of sociopathy/autism for that of the top richest people in the world.
- That number looks good until you realize we only make 1$ in profit each

I was seriously wondering what part of the internet you frequently visit, until I realized this is a euphemism.
It’s not what I have seen/read on the internet that would concern you, it would be IRL stuff.
Off point - on point - I do not know.
But I had $50k shipped in January (ordered last October), when the Orange Tariff was announced.
Of course I was livid. And did a fair amount of searching, to no avail, if I was to be charged this 10%.
Called my broker, and no one knew that last week of January.
I gave up, as there was zero I could do.
Then on Feb 9th I was notified the pallets were in port, and received the customs entry and WAS NOT CHARGED.
Called by broker and he said.
Any shipment SHIPPED Feb 4th or Before - ARRIVING in Port by March 4th, will not have the 10% additional tariff.
Call (202) 456-1111 for more information about current rates. They are the only ones who may know.
Edit: He also said that Customs gave the brokers a SPECIAL CODE, that needed to be entered. So if you are in the same BOAT, make sure your broker is on it.
I only say this, as the same may go for the 2nd 10%, (CA and MX, prob are effective ASAP if/when as there is no transport time), and it seems the future MAY hold a rash of tariffs from around the world, and if you do import, you and I are in for a very unpredictable time.
So when a new tariff from your country of export, then states a DEFINITIVE Date, I think there is a FAIRNESS, that US Customs follows.
I sincerely appreciate their efforts in this time of unprecedented uncertainty.
Is this FedEx, Amazon, or US Customs?
Or heck, in honor of Aragorn’s birthday, is this how we summon Gandalf the White, who battled a demonic Balrog for many lifetimes in the underworld, to get a clear definitive answer? ![]()

None of the above.
It’s the West Wing Switchboard Office’s - which is a subsidiary of the WhĂte House Communications Office - “Leave Comments” phone line.
I called, and they are only avaiIable Mon - Fri 11 to 3 EST (to leave a voice message !!)
With a 4 hour day, one could conclude that DOGE has determined that the public comments are fraud and wasteful.
