This ain’t "SEAmod" anymore

Agreed.

As far as I am concerned, Amazon would do well in doing so, and emulating Emmanuel Frémiet’s signature equestrian sculpture Jeanne d’Arc (now reproduced in Philadelphia, PA & Portland, OR) for Susan:

Many are the ASF moderators who’ve done their best to help our Seller Community (remember Lauren? Scotty? ‘Original’ Glenn? ‘Original’ Danny? et al.?) - but if any one of Amazon’s millions of employees over the years deserves a statue, I’d be likely to vote for Susan H.

Danny in my eyes was great. Dis not mind discussing, admitted when he/staff were wrong, and generally was human.

I was a big fan of Lauren. Although much younger than Susan, she was Susan’s mentor at Amazon. A nice girl who grew up in New Bedford, she left Amazon when her husband received an East Coast posting from the military.

Another moderator who cared.

But do you remember when a mod (I can’t remember who, but I don’t think she posts anymore), told us that Amazon employees use these two terms interchangeably?

I challenged her on that, but I never really understood why they thought that was a good idea. This was several years ago so maybe they’ve wised up by now…

I have always been under the impression that mods cannot take any action, other than escalating/bringing to a team’s attention. Not true?? A mod on the Canadian site posted earlier

“I would like to inform you after checking the details for this transaction I have decided to remove the negative feedback.”

I do indeed. It was the one who claimed ownership of the polls. It was a whole thing…and then her account was deactivated shortly thereafter. :woman_facepalming:

I wonder if that’s a miss speek and another team decided? I don’t know

In the past, some of the mods were part-time and their other job was in support. They could assign a case to themselves and do any function that a regular support rep could do.

I have no clue whether the current mods have other jobs.

I’ve seen a few members of the FMT-CMT state the same - most recently, by Ricardo earlier today (101724) here:

https://sellercentral.amazon.com/seller-forums/discussions/t/aafacebb-95ad-4241-95d8-e23317e3dd99?postId=e26eb866-9305-4cb6-80ad-b92ab90c7588

I’ve also seen quite a few instances of mods (and their counterpart AHT SMEs) baldly stating that this or that outcome was a direct result of their intervention.

Given what our friend Nutty dredged up about the OP’s Seller Feedback, I must admit that the reversal of the Feedback Manager Amabot’s decision is somewhat surprising, even in the well-known light of Amazon’s typical myopia…

Maybe they have been given some actual power back? Here’s hoping

That just pisses me off. That seller, that came complaining about one of his many negatives, has 14 pages of generic products, with misspelled brand names in the title, (Starr Wars, Biisell) does RA, charges TWICE or more what Walmart charges has tons of reviews and feedback from customers realizing they were scammed too late…but NO high price bot, NO generic product violation, nothing. He gets his one negative removed…

I would not worry. As they say, don’t poke a sleeping bear. Sure, he may have gotten that neg removed but he also may have also drawn the attention of Amazon for those other things.

The one I referred to was also Ricardo. Obviously another misconception on my part, I had also thought mods were either US forum or Canadian. He seems to wield feedback power in both.

Mere hours after the 1May2016 announcement that Amazon would be protecting 3P Sellers for INR A-to-z claims should they utilize BSS/MSS (“Buy Shipping Service”/“Merchant Shipping Service” in ‘Amazonese’), more than one of the then-active of the most-respected Forum Veterans predicted that Amazon would eventually renege on the bargain sooner or later (Statler, Bunga, Marilyn, Seedy, Pride, and Schady come to mind on that score, but there were more) once its bean-counters crunched the numbers over time; more than a few still-active vets - by virtue of the then-recorded upvotes - evidently produced a consensus in agreement with the possibility of that prediction reaching fruition.

From what I can tell in recent weeks & months of viewing moderator responses over in the NSFE, such as SusanH’s 101824 response here (which isn’t the first time that she herself has weighed in on this topic w/ similar disclaimers, much-less the multiple examples of the same from her fellow Amazon employees), those well-missed folks who’ve now left the building knew whereof they spoke.

Keep trying, Amazon - you can’t make it worse…

Wait, what am I saying? :upside_down_face:

Can’t Jinx Amazon…Looks like they already pay someone good money for that. From what I see, Amazon is more and more desperate to make their numbers look good to stock holders, withholding more and more funds without reason or explanation. Just yesterday a post from a seller of 17 years suddenly funds in rolling reserve for no apparent reason (pretty pissed too). I believe, if they were forced to pay all the money they hold to their respective sellers, their stock market price would sink quick.
Nevermind the “other” charges that they can apply as they wish and nobody can do anything about it.
How do they legally earn interest on seller’s money?

I’ve never met Susan so I have no way of knowing, but she DID respond to this plea for help. And @TaylorR_amazon suggested the title was open to competition from the sounds!

Best looking Mod gets to help me with this—feedback removal
