I found Susan’s 110224 NSFE post here particularly heartwarming:
Never give up.
Never give out.
Never give in.

Ouch, that last line hits a little hard
No other real options though … being an employee and all.
But it does tell us, we were not alone in the shock and the pushback. Also says a little about who we are
Susan reported three days ago that the mods did have some fun with the OP’s premise, and the OP reported earlier today that the feedback had been suppressed.
I notice I’m not seeing any recent posts from Susan. It seems to have been a couple weeks now.
A two-week vacation, perhaps?
I was just wondering if your “inside connections” might have any info on this. Seems odd.
Susan’s postings have always been in waves, since the osfe days.
Huh. I guess I never noticed that.
But I do think it strange that she would create a thread specifically to help with the issue of negative feedback left on orders that customers have cancelled, assist some sellers (apparently with much success), and then just disappear. People are still asking for help on that thread.
It seems unlike her not to post a statement of “BRB” or something similar.
@oneida_books: You do know that “I know nothing” is German for “I know something,” right? ![]()
That is forum mods 101! Even back in the OSFE with PM’s, mods would take 7+ days to reply to a PM they started!
11 posts were split to a new topic: The Languages We Love (and it’s not Amazonese)
^^ This … ^^
However … it’s over 2 weeks and …
Over 3 weeks, and no Susan.
But who’s counting?
![]()
4 weeks.
I just mean that she made … based on her profile.
Still wondering about Susan.
MIA over 5 weeks.
Is it possible she was promoted? demoted? moved laterally? transferred to another department? out on an extended medical leave? no longer employed by Amazon?
I’m surprised there hasn’t been an inquiry on the NSFE. Mods would have to say something, wouldn’t they, if questioned about her absence?
No, they wouldn’t. They would ignore it.
It’s the holidays, or maybe, and hopefully, she retired or moved on to better things!
I’m with @Pepper_Thine_Angus on this one. I had asked about one MOD a year or two ago and it was several weeks before there was a response saying the person was still around but working on some other team or something.
The Amazon system is designed to be impersonal and easy remove and replace parts in the plan. People? Who needs people when you have such well trained BOTS?
OK - to no one in particular - apparently I have to let this go.
But I still don’t understand it. I went back over this thread looking for some kind of clue and was again impressed with the depth and intensity of the discussion, and the passionate fan base that Susan has/had here.
It was still an interesting read. (That’s the joy of being my age. You get to learn the same thing over and over again.
)
And the refresher reminded me that there is a new man in Susan’s life (I had totally forgotten that bit of news.).
If she is gone - as she appears to be - how come no fanfare? I don’t get it. We’ve lost an important asset. I remember a couple longtime mods, way back, doing an AMA before saying goodbye. Ya know, all normal-like. Even the most acrimonious of partings can be paved over with flowers and lollipops for public consumption.
If you know something, Rob, you don’t have to tell us. Just say that you know something but that you can’t tell us! That will be good enough for me.
(Or is the apparent lack of interest in this topic because everybody knows BUT me…?) ![]()
