That was one of the best ‘in your face’ responses from Amazon that I have seen in quite a while. I need to go back and get the link to it to add to one of my NO YOU CAN’T templates! ![]()
I would nominate is as one of the best EVER. Mods always seem to dance around the question, without giving a real answer (which I frankly understand; not their job to decide policy).
Ok @Picks_by_Nisha and @dwat0870 I have searched on NSFE and failed to find…anything, really. Can you please post the link to this when you can? ![]()
Michelle_Amazon stated:
I have reviewed your last 2 requests and the invoices you are providing are from a large retailer, which is not accepted when applying for approval to list a brand. You need to be purchasing directly from the brand or an authorized distributor for the brand.
RESCUED!!! I spent the past 2 days looking for it. The "search’ function on the NSFE sucks so badly it was obviously designed by the same people that did their product search for the ASINs.
And note the ‘nail meet hammer’ reference from @Brigitte in a shout out (unmentioned ) to @Dogtamer !!!
Certain catchphrases have a way of being remembered, as may be seen in this 072925 NSFE reply (emphasis mine) which I unabashedly attribute to our friend @Pepper_Thine_Angus having made it famous afore Katie came to squat:
Speaking of something that booksellers could use, I see that Indy_Amazon posted this on 072925:
Too little, too late?
So… putting back what they already had and took away in the first place? I bet they all pat themselves on the back for their progress and ingenuity when they open it.
Now with doxxing!
![]()
Bet it’ll be public
Yet impossible to usefully search, just like the rest of the NSFE.
With any luck they do what they have done with the “New Seller” and “Handmade” groups. Their ‘Groups’ are handled differently from the rest.
The only problem will be that everyone can READ what is posted but not everyone can comment. I get to spout off on the New Seller side but not on the handmade (NO ONE would want to buy anything that I would make with the possible exception of my stained glass).
Too many sellers expose the secrets of how scammers are operating and don’t realize the Forum can be read by just about anyone. It can be a veritable feast for scammers and thieves if they read enough stuff there. ![]()
Possibly the third-worst aspect, among all the many of them, of the Screeching Harpy’s Abomination NSFE, after the Doxxing itself, & the execrable ‘nested’ functionality.
The latter feature has been complained about even by members of the FMT-CMT & AHT SME cohorts, right from the get-go, w/ the most-recent example I’ve seen being the concluding paragraph of Sandy_Amazon’s 073125 post here:
Still, even improving all of those foibles would seem unlikely to prevent the ongoing issues which are the primary focus of this SAS thread, i.e., the FMT-CMT/AHT SME members posting links to resources which THEY can access, but sellers cannot; that phenomenon seemingly just happened again w/ Christine_Amazon’s 080125 NSFE reply here:
The SHC page Christine is referencing, “Process Return Requests” @ https: //sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/201725690 (her supplied link is actually the “G”-prefixed version), has apparently been deprecated since @ least 052919 - more than 5 years ago - according to my notes.
There’s a reason why sellers are increasingly being attracted to the SAS…
And for fourth place I nominate the impossibility of bumping a thread. You are still not supposed to create duplicate threads, yet most threads disappear over the horizon without any notice.
I see that Glenn_Amazon has now ventured back into the same territory from which he was infamously rolled back back in Q1 (link, SAS), reinforcing both his original position and Michelle’s 072425 post you quoted, with his of 080125 here:
Spines may not abound, but they do seem to be growing…
Ya know, it really shouldn’t be this hard.
The FMT-CMT’s Dougal_Amazon - whose posting history over the years might seem to strongly suggest that he’s actually one of the better mods - posted a 080725 “Engage” discussion “Want to know more about Prime Big Deal Days? (link)”, with this initial post:
Perhaps because all of the replies heretofore are basically pillories of Prime Events themselves, save a coupla mundane questions & Dougal’s replies to those (more on that later) and one he made to one of the naysayers, no one seems to’ve noticed that his link to the ‘Create’ workflow of Seller Central Deals Dashboard @ https: //sellercentral.amazon.com/merchandising-new/create is actually behind Amazon’s internal-access-only M.A.P. (“Midway Authentication Portal”) firewall:
https://www.sellercentral.amazon.dev/merchandising-new/create
Strike One.
Not to be outdone, Dougal made this 081225 reply to one of the aforesaid mundane questions:
Dougal’s “Engage” discussion was posted to the U.S. forum, which might make it seem a tad bit perplexing that his embedded link “Lightning Deals for events” points to the India Marketplace version of the SHC’s “Deals for events” @ https: //sellercentral.amazon.in/help/hub/reference/G202183600 rather than to the (simplified non-“G” version’) U.S. Marketplace version @ https: //sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/202183600.
Strike Two.
I wonder if the mods know that three strikes do not a hat-trick nor trifecta make?
Posted corrections to Dougal
As has so-vividly been demonstrated so-frequently before, when Marbles talks, people listen.
To Dougal’s everlasting credit, I’d say he’s now stepped up to the plate, facing two strikes, and scored a double with this mea culpa 081325 response to your heads-up post:
I remain convinced that the general consensus long-held by the seasoned and savvy forum vets (among others) much of the problem stems from Amazon’s fervent embrace of the Silo Management Model of Bureaucratic Administration producing, in and of itself, situations where the mods haven’t been supplied with the latest updates to their resources, as may be seen in Sandy_Amazon’s 081425 reply here:
Sandy’s embedded link, which points to Mr. Mehta’s pre-“Trustworthy Selling Initiative” About Amazon Blog post of 032424 (the fourth-annual Brand Protection Report) @ Amazon Brand Protection Report 2023: Protecting against counterfeits, rather than to the March 2025 Brand Protection Report for the past year @ 2024 Brand Protection Report - Trustworthy Shopping at Amazon.
Admittedly, the newest report is a bit vacuous, as is often par for the course w/ Amazon PRs; other than one of the earliest-known public mentions of Andy Jassy’s ‘baby’, multimodal large language models [aka MLLMs] outside of the various technologically-oriented Communities, it’s basically simply a rehash of the previous report - but it’s still surprising to me that Sandy would link the earlier one when the later one exists…
May I ask if you’ve seen this 081525 NSFE post from KJ_Amazon about a Qualtrics Survey for Amazon Custom Program Sellers? @Image @Amazon_Seller @joebcrafts @Setalpz @wadeorcas @justalamb @meredithbead @ickynicks @doilyboutique444 @Chimanimani
I didn’t see this as I still haven’t o-nboarded to NSFE yet.
I just completed the survey. In general Amazon’s customization is ahead of the other major sales channels, simply because this feature doesn’t exist on Ebay or Etsy. It is available on Shopify using a paid app, which does beat Amazon because it has the ability to use swatches and solid colors.
My main ask is that Amazon allow Text Input colors to be not only solid RGB colors, but include swatches as well. This way we can show custom patterns, reflective inks, holographic inks, rainbow inks, metallic sparkles or glitter inks, and so on properly.
I also asked them to increase the maximum number of Option Dropdowns so I can display all of the customizable features. I also requested that they add logic so that if a custom color or swatch is selected, it can trigger an overlay for that color. My products have a border that is the same color as the Text Input color, but currently I can only show the border in 1 color, so the previews are not accurate.
I also asked that the Custom Image Preview be included on the packing slips, so that we don’t have to download them and then print them before printing the packing slip. I’d also like the Image Preview to be shown on the main Order Details page so that you don’t have to click to see it. And it would be nice to add the image preview to the customer’s order details page. One of the most common questions I receive is from a customer who is unsure of their customization because they can no longer see the order preview after placing the order. Or if there is a way to see it - it is too difficult for them to find it.
Hopefully they implement these requests. It would bolster buyer confidence, order preview accuracy, and allow sellers to offer more customizations and features of their product.
I would probably sell more of the custom / metallic ink upgrades if the customer could see it properly in the preview.
Ack, I forgot, since the seller can create the image preview at a resolution of 1000x1000, it would be nice if the preview could be zoomed in, or displayed larger as an option. We have all this resolution built into the customization preview, yet Amazon relegates it to a fraction of the size on desktops and portable devices.
That’s my wish list.
