USPS Issues / USPS.com Issues

100%

No … we send as they are. There were issues last time with getting refunds on these recycled labels.

It’s a gamble either way. Let everyone know early gives the rest of you a chance to buy off of Amazon to avoid these labels.

…but lose Buy Shipping protections. This is a mess.

I brought 7 labels around 7am PST and all were ok…so far. :crossed_fingers:

Yes but past experience you would avoiding customer anger, claiming you as a seller faking the shipment, Amazon not honoring an INR because it looks tracking looks shady and getting a shipping adjustment because Amazon sees the weight of the package as the original shipment weight and not your packages weight.

Ourselves … we got lucky last time and had only one customer question the tracking. His order was delivered the day after contacting us so nothing became of it. However, several sellers over on NSFE reports were not as lucky and YES what a mess it was.

Ours were bought around 6:30am Central Time … so about 2 hours before you.

We used Amazon Bulk Buy Shipping … did you use that or individual?

bulk

Bought three labels about 3:30 PDT, no problems.
But I had no problems last time, either. Possibly BPM isn’t affected.

Has anyone seen problems with either BPM or Media Mail (now or last time)?

This would be my guess.

I should mention that although we had no problems with buying BPM on Amazon during the last time, we did have issues with buying shipping for other platforms on Veeqo, and basically quit using it for a time, with the sole exception of BPM (because it saves so much money over Priority or GA for the items we sell on Ebay that can’t go MM). I don’t think we had any issues with BPM then, either.
And the only order that I know had a problem eventually resolved; customer was (understandably) confused when they looked at tracking, but order arrived when promised, so no real problem. Of course, I think that, in general, Ebay customers are easier to deal with when there are odd issues than are Amazon customers.

Our labels yesterday (which were recycled labels) were USPS Ground Advantage (less than 1lb) purchased on Amazon Bulk Buy Shipping.

FYI … labels purchased this morning are fine.

Recently, a bookseller outside NYC we’d never purchased from before, used, I’m assuming, one of these recycled labels. Used BPM-not MM or GA! The tracking number failed to reflect thru USPS-never did reflect, up till the day our purchase was delivered. An expensive, rare book, published only in England about 60 years ago. .

I was frustrated:
#1, because THEY USED BPM on an expensive purchase, because I paid extra -around 10 bucks for “Expedited” shipping/handling. Still arrived in about 10 days, average for a MEGA(these folks weren’t a MEGA). We ship GA from AZ-gets across country in 3-4 days. Even when ship BPM to Brooklyn or NJ, takes 5!

#2 Thought they were screwing me around since I couldn’t track the purchase.

#3 After my second inquiry, they wouldn’t answer my messages. Just for that reason, won’t purchase from them again, ever! I got the book, it was well packaged-but their CS was awful.

My Mother-in-Law, Missing in the Mail

It turns out the USPS frequently loses cremated remains.

After 2½ weeks of grief, the email arrived signaling the final phase of our family’s immediate sorrow. “Mr. Ross,” the message from the mortuary began, “please find the attached tracking for Ms. Faunee Williams’s cremated remains, urn, and certified copies of her death certificate.”

My mother-in-law lived 77 years and was now, in death, 11.48 pounds of ashes inside a $145 U.S. Postal Service overnight delivery box. A 22-digit consignment. Delivery to our home in California promised by 6 p.m. the next day. I kept refreshing the tracking page for updates, but the last timestamp stubbornly remained from the previous night …

DOES ANYONE HAVE THIS ISSUE??

Wondering if BPM doesn’t track unless one inputs tracking # on USPS.com. Otherwise get a big fat zero, no such number. Which is the problem I mentioned above.

Hope I haven’t bad-mouthed the dealer to no avail. Thankfully, didn’t give neg. FBl I stick w/ the mutual agreement w/ other dealers, no matter how bad they might be-and some are mighty poor!!

Never had this issue till about 3 weeks ago-even w/ Megas using PBM, could always track my purchases.

You have mentioned ya’ll use BPM. Have you found tracking issues w/ it, recently, other than number used previously. Googled BPM tracking(issued by AMAZON) w/ Sig. Con. starting w/ 9343 to a Freight Forwarder.

Amazon tracks under SHIPPING LABEL PURCHASE but if paste tracking into Google, Says no such number. Had to go to our account @USPS to get info on acceptance/location, etc.

Are these two references to the same label? … when you were trying to track a purchase?

Is this “Amazon tracks” from when you bought or when you shipped?

This actually happened to a friend of mine.
Her mothers’ ashes went missing. The crematory clearly marked
the box as “creamted remains”. USPS denied receiving the package and refused
to help.
She contacted a local TV station, they put her on live TV. After that broadcast
USPS quickly “found” her mother

Post Office Can’t Find Mother’s Missing Remains – NBC10 Philadelphia

Never had any problems with BPM not tracking (other than the occasional one that probably just didn’t get scanned; no more of a problem for BPM than on GA).
Double checked the orders I just shipped, and everything looks fine, both on Amazon and USPS tracking.

Presumably at the USPS dead letter and package facility.

without a doubt!

Actually, two labels: one order shipped Friday, 4-25-25, the other, a rare book purchase we had shipped to us about 3 weeks ago.

Neither, both BPM, could we google. The latter, purchased from a 3rd party on Amazon, never was able to track, even after it had been delivered(frankly, we had lost all hope of seeing the title since had paid to expedite and the dealer didn’t).

After I had a brain wave, logged the former into our USPS account and they accepted AMAZON’s tracking.

We had a label today where USPS shipping was not an option with only UPS and FedEx being offered.
