USPS operating on Jan 9?

This is something I expect from FedEx. Oh wait, our Cleveland distribution center for the USPS does the same thing…

Nevermind.

So you forgot to put a pineapple sticker on it?

Explains everything.

What if they did and it is upside down?

On the issue of USPS operating, today (Jan 6, 2025) has been one heck of a postage day. NOTHING going out with Amazon is going USPS, will not arrive on time even though the last day to arrive is Jan 14th.

We have been sending items UPS, and through ShipStation USPS as needed. Is what it is. Clearly AZ has NOT considered this a postal holiday.

I like cake, but the upside down part has another meaning, I only know this being in the imaging business, and the fact that we make welcome plaques with a pineapple on them…

An upside-down pineapple is a pineapple that has been flipped over so that the leafy top is facing down. It can have several meanings, including:

  • Partner-swapping

A symbol used by couples or individuals to indicate that they are interested in partner-swapping or “swinging”. It can be displayed on belongings like bags or laptops, or more prominently on doors while traveling.

  • Availability

In some grocery stores, people may place an upside-down pineapple in their cart to signal that they are available. Bumping into someone’s cart may indicate that they are open to chatting.

  • Pineapple upside-down cake

A dessert made with pineapple slices, brown sugar, butter, and other ingredients.

  1. I don’t like one of the NSFE Amabots coopting the “Roxy” (“racingroxstore”) @Roxy handle.
  2. Roxy, this isn’t Seller-specific. It affects EVERY FBM Seller (even if they don’t use USPS), has been fully announced and known ahead of time, and should be quite simple to add as a shipping holiday.

That did make us take a second and third look … but as uncommon as the name is, there could be two of them …

Far more than that; every Roxanne I’ve ever known - and over the years, that amounts to more than a mere few - save one, often used Roxy as a diminutive.

And leave it to Amazon to NOT disappoint demonstrating their sheer incompetence at every opportunity.

This just showed up an hour ago!

I have to say, I don’t know if I’ll notice the difference.

Here is a picture of my shipments for pickup today (Tuesday)

It’s that big because it never got picked up yesterday.

And “What?” you may ask, is that sticking out of the slot?

That is the mail that was delivered today, including the Pick-up Request sheet, that got scanned, so that we got an email stating that it had been picked up.

It would be bad enough normally, but we are both recovering from COVID, so still contagious, so can’t go drop it off. Needless to say, I’m not too happy with our new carrier (who got the route over a really good guy because she has seniority).

You need to do a few things. I unfortunately have gone through this with My PO for years.

  1. contact the supervisor and give them a chance to make it right.
  2. contact the customer service number and make a formal complaint or do an E-mail complaint.
  3. contact your congressional representitives. (this usually gets some actual action)

The supervisors actually gave me the employee only number for after hours. They unfortunately know my voice and the usual response is “they didn’t pick it up did they? Ok I will send someone in the next 10 min”

When I have my usual carriers it’s not an issue, when they are on vacation it’s usually a problem unfortunately.

Received this e-mail at 7:30 PM EST last night after I changed my handling time from 0 to 1 days yesterday afternoon… of course now I have to wait 24 hours to change it back. JFC Amazon.

We did not get the email.

Though we did notice a change at 1/8/2025, 5am this morning. While we were shipping the days orders we are allowed to, many needed to be upgraded. Or we needed to ship using our own ShipStation. It has been like this for a week.

We got all the orders cleaned up by 7am and labeled for shipment today. (It is something we call “Cash Flow Wednesday” the Amazon orders that are shipped before 7:15am get credited and will be in our bank on Friday morning.) Many orders I did this morning showed ship Wednesday or Thursday.

A few orders have come in since then. They are showing the first ship day as FRIDAY. We run most products on 1-2 day for our handling.

This proves to me they finally got something in place to deal with this in the Amazon System.

Yet I’m still seeing orders placed today with a ship by date of the 9th

By AMAZING COINCIDENCE I had no orders yesterday. So all my orders either have to ship today or Friday.

I am seriously LOL’ing

Got that message too:

We’re taking action to protect your business:
To ensure that your business is not negatively impacted by the USPS holiday on Thursday January 9th, Amazon will set this day as a holiday for USPS ship methods in Amazon FBM systems. As a result, all promised delivery dates will be automatically adjusted and extended by 1 day.

Liar Liar Liar

What this means is that after Jan 9th they will no longer require you to ship on Jan 9th

My orders with that deadline certainly are not changed.
