This is one of the shipments sent yesterday, there are 20 packages affected like this.
I read in Amazon forum that there are some other people experiencing this issue too.
not sure what to do today ![]()

I am guessing this is an error, because the whole point of the new postage system in the past few years is there should never be a package held/arriving for postage due cause they just charge your seller/postal account for said postage due
… and for about the last two months, we see this for 24 hours before we see the acceptance scan
but while this is showing … at some point during that 24 hours, the acceptance scan does show up on the order detail page.
Your postage not paid has been going on for about a year on NSFE (although it has been quiet on that one for a while). We did a post on the one we were seeing and KJ_Amazon responded and passed up the chain (nothing has happened).
At this point, it is hard to tell if it is an Amazon thing, a USPS thing, or both.
We suggest you get an acceptance scan print out if you can (not all USPS will do it).
Is it still saying this/still stuck?
There have occasional reports on the Ebay forums that USPS has claimed postage through Pitney Bowes (used by Ebay) has not been paid.
It has usually cleared itself.
I have never seen the tracking not available message, but I have seen delayed origin scans in he past two months. A clerk at our PO says the problem is at our PO. It is probably related to the erratic new routing which is changing hubs different days of the week.
still not cleared, still says : Delayed for postage assessment, held awaiting payment.

Just an FYI for you … our USPS packages from the 9th and 10th are not showing movement scans for about 50% of our packages.
Check to see what Amazon is reporting for that order on your manage order page. Sometimes you will see movement there and not on the USPS site.
I checked all affected orders on manage order page, still no movement, I changed to UPS these 2 days now. But prices are higher, not affordable in long term, so, really hope Amazon knows what to do with USPS.
I checked Amazon seller forum, this situation started in March this year, then occurred in August again, now again in October.
I was not affected in March or August, but am affected this time, so, cannot predict if I will be victim next time or not.
Is it fixed for you yet?
And this is the sting.
not cleared yet, and 2-3 more people are reporting this issue on NSFE these 2 days, including 1 saying this issue happened to postages bought from Veeqo.
yesterday, I started shipping some orders via USPS, and all are good.
it is now like a lottery, I cannot tell if the postages I bought this morning are good to go or not.
I’ve noticed that also; for the last hour or so KJ_Amazon has been posting one or another version of this response to some of those NSFE discussions:
This is the fourth-known wave of reports of this phenomenon since Q2 of 2024, and since the previous two instances seem to have eventually been cleared up, I’m hopeful that the same will obtain this time around.
I’m less sanguine, however, that it won’t happen again…
Should we be opening a case with Amazon Support for this issue so we have it on record?
I sell time sensitive items so most likely, buyers are going to want to return these. I’m going to be losing money made from sales, the money I paid for shipment, and I have to purchase return shipping label.
I have total of 32 shipments that were shipped out on 10/9 that all have the postage assessment issue.
It wouldn’t hurt.
Do you think there’s a chance Amazon will cover shipping cost back and forth?
And, most likely never, but delete any 1 star reviews from these orders?
Probably not … unless somehow Amazon admits the issue is / was caused by them (so no).
This implies that there will be returns.
If the custom does an A to Z and the order had “Claims Protection” badge and you shipped on time and the first scan was on time, then Amazon should cover the A to Z (which means you keep the money for the order … but you will not get back the postage paid).
If the order is a return, then that will fall under the Safety claim process. We have not used this process so will have to have another forum member to through that will you.
Here a new post from KJ_Amazon about the issue:
Odrade
I’m wondering if this could be causing the issue in this post
Thank you for that suggestion @Odrade. I have shared that information with our carrier and Veeqo partner teams for their ongoing investigation.
These shipments should be treated like any caused by carrier delay. For Amazon orders shipped on time through Buy Shipping using a claims-protected service, they will be covered by Buy Shipping protections.

That’s what I thought at first too but I also don’t use safe-T claim either so I don’t even know how this works. I guess if returns becomes too much to bear, I can give that a shot.
I’ve added to this post on NSFE:

Sounds like an Amazon failure they are KINDA admitting to
