Walmart Update for Prohibited Products

So I am noticing that some of the items we still have active are those I made a case for in the past.

Example..
We wanted to offer Oral-B items.
So I made a case and said we would like to offer our Oral-B items on Walmart and submitted Manufacturer direct invoices to prove the authenticity of the items.
The request was granted after the review of the documents submitted.

So these items are still active on Walmart.
@WALMART.COM_EXPERT Is this the PATH we and other should be taking for each Brand we offer? Make a request and submit our Invoices?

All sellers are looking for is the steps needed to move forward.

I’ll try another case as above to see what happens.

Any luck yet? Having to ungate extant listings by brand is a hassle, but it’s definitely more manageable than by each individual product.

Thank @Pepper_Thine_Angus for saying what I thought.

When I buy on Walmart, I never look at the listings from 3P sellers. Maybe with this change, I might, sometimes, if they were priced competitively.

and now Walmart is bragging about it.

It’s been a few weeks and Walmart has not been answering cases.
We did however get an email today regarding the restricted Categories.
There is finally a form you can fill out for Seller Eligibility for Restricted Categories..

We understand these changes may be disruptive and apologize for any inconvenience as we work to review and verify listings as quickly as possible. If you have not been contacted about enhanced vetting and wish to have your items reviewed, please complete and submit this support form in Seller Center. Please note that reviews may take several weeks and you need only submit the form once. Multiple submissions will not expedite your review.

After that initial email we received no other communication regarding the restricted categories.
I do not believe we sell anything that would be restricted - not sure why we got the notification.

I can imagine the number of sellers making contact - can’t imagine they have the support staff to address all of them.

I imagine that a good chunk of them are from China. At least that’s the way it was in our category. They will simply just move on to the next scam.

That opportunity is so big, it’s incredible - if you find the right agency.

Multiple brands you never heard of at this years NBJ summit in CA that went from zero to 9-Digit brands in a year.

Insanity…

We have been vetting agencies for months. Haven’t found the right fit just yet.

I mean, at the end of the day, the profit on those 9-digit sales might only be 20-30 million but that’s 20-30 million!

This is one of them. Complete fraud of a company. Sourced from Alibaba but they pretend to be this wholesome USA brand. Doing 60 million a year just with this 1 sku, just on Amazon. Their TikTok shop sales are higher.

Whenever I see these I want to see CoAs from reputable labs, honestly. Prove it’s more than just maltodextrin and some flavor.

This whole thing is being run by who knows who. My old Amazon SAS manager also had this brand. He dealt only with their RA (remote assistant). Never anyone from the brand.

One of the biggest and best scams I have seen in the category in 27 years doing this.

Banner appeared on Seller Center this morning.
We do not sell any of the items mentioned, just a heads up I am thinking?
(not suggesting that I do * think * , but in this instance possibly?)

Everyone is seeing this. I’ve had it for a week, and I don’t sell any of that stuff either.

This morning is the first I’m seeing it.
Many sellers affected by it no doubt.

We had our 2 newest listings yanked today. Weird. And their systems aren’t updating, in terms of showing detail on the unpublished workflows. Shows 2 items but not the detail.

Created a case to get access to the category because I can’t get to the vetting screen by listing. They didn’t yank our other 4 older listings, under the same registered brand. In the ā€œdescribe the issue section - I added the detail and item ID’s for the listings that were pulled.

What I find amusing is their buying team for brick and mortar Walmart is currently considering these 2 items for their stores but we get yanked off their site.

Of course I had to throw that into the case….

We’ll see what happens…. Will advise on the journey. Worst case scenario, we will just go to the buyer at Walmart we are dealing with to get them reinstated. Their category managers / buyers are now also responsible for the marketplace in some ways.

Tried out their new seller forum. Let’s see if a Mod takes a look. :man_shrugging:

We added several new listings today.
Nothing updating for us either.

Had a thought since we don’t sell in those categories their banner message was more of a heads up than a warning.
Many other neighboring sellers saw this just today as well.
Late to the party :tada:

Our items got reinstated at some point today without a response to either of the 2 cases I opened or the forum post. Very strange but I’ll take it!

Phew!

Or notification, I’m guessing? But maybe Walmart is better at this than Amazon.

Without knowing what happened, it’s a weird limbo where you can never rest easy that it won’t happen again. Still, a win is a win.

The MAJOR problem with Walmart is they notify sellers about NOTHING…..

You just have to keep an eye, which I am terrible about with Walmart because nothing ever happens. It’s send inventory, set it and forget it….

Now that they have an App, I use that to check sales and never go on desktop (which is where you may stumble upon something).

The only reason I knew something was wrong is because those 2 items stopped selling….
