Our house turns 100 years old soon, so no modern HVAC; just window units, and a dehumidifier in the basement.
Only problem with the basement unit is that it also heats up the room. Tough to balance between keeping humidity low for the books, and temp low for the wine cellar, which is adjacent to the main basement room. (I really need to sell some wine; then I won’t have to worry so much. But selling rare wine is a PITA, even with connections).
