I am sending Ollie the spirit and wisdom of my late Flame Point Siamese, a senior cat that I adopted from the animal shelter.
Belle would sit calmly on my lap while I clipped her nails with a regular human nail clipper. She never budged.

About four months ago I posted a story of the bookstore cat who tried hiding in the wall and my adventure getting her out. She VERY slowly progressed to the point she would come out and greet most every customer, once around their ankles and back to her cubby. She was a very chill cat.
Sad to say, this morning we had to put her to sleep. Turns out she had lung cancer. The tumors were such that she likely had them already when we took her in.
