I really didn’t think it was possible for a cat to be so attached to a single person.
Ollie is such a sweet boy, even though he’s still “intact”.
This is how he sleeps. LOL
Ollie must be so relaxed living in a safe home. I wish him the best, as a long-ago adopter of stray cats, as they used to be called back then.
I am happy to report the arrival of Charlotte to the bookstore I work at. Her owner’s thought the “no pets” rule at their new trailer park abode only applied to outdoor cats, until they were given a week to remove their indoor cat Charlotte. Fortunately the bookstore is not complete without feline assistance. And a friend of a friend of a friend knew of the situation and connected everyone.
Charlotte is a beautiful 11 year old tortosie shell girl who loves to be petted, even on her first day. Still waiting for her to de-stress enough to eat and drink, but she seems like a great fit for the store.
I join you in celebration of a new beginning, and in remembrance of those feline friends now passed.
May Charlotte prove a boon, and a blessing, to you, yours, and all those who cross her path in the store, and elsewhere.
A furry friend is a must. It is like the #2 reason I love to shop at used book stores ![]()
I think it has been 9 days since your last Ollie Report. You owe us.
OK, here we go.
My MIL got back after 6 months at her summer home on Saturday and Ollie was not a happy camper. Has stranger danger. He didn’t eat for 2 days up there with her so we brought him down a few times a day so he could eat. As you may remember, Kara (my deceased Charlie’s sister) does not like Ollie and refuses to get along so he’s relegated to my MIL’s house which is on top of ours…
Happy to report that as of today they are best buds and he’s following her all around the house.
He’s huge at this point but such a good boy. I trimmed all 18 of his nails in one quick sitting yesterday. Something none of my other cats (6) from the past and present would ever let me do.
Now that he’s settled, it’s about time he gets fixed. Balls are huge LOL. It’s pretty funny to see him walking around with those things jingling. HAHA…
No other health issues, his eyes are as good as they have ever been.
Picture from last night sleeping next to me while I watched TX win the WS. That was a shocker, all things considered. deGrom down in the 5th week of the season and Max being recent Max - injury after injury. But good for them. They have never gone all the way before.
Glad to hear how well Ollie is doing. Ok, he’s a big guy who has Big Jewels. Please let us know how he is doing on a regular basis.
I love cats and grew up with 3 cats, and I only realized I was incredibly allergic when I went to Europe for a summer and I found out I did not have to sneeze 24/7.
The pets we had when our son, who was also allergy prone was growing up? A goldfish that lived for 17 years, and a chinchilla that lived for most of 10 years.
LOL. “Jingling Ollie” reminds me of Buzzy before I got him neutered. He had been an outdoor cat and his trouble nuggets were getting him in trouble. Every evening he would show up at my door with new wounds from fighting. I couldn’t have that.
Since Buzzy is a Siamese mix, he is “two toned” in that area. His body is lighter colored, his nuggets are darker. When neutering, the vets only remove the testicles but they leave the ■■■■■■■ so he still looks two-toned. ![]()
He loves you.

Hi Ollie! You’re a very lucky boy.
As soon as I get in bed, Buzzy climbs right on top of my chest and goes to sleep. He slowly slips down to my armpit where he would stay all night if I let him. “Buzzy, Mommy needs to turn over. Mommy needs to move her arm. Mommy needs to get up”, etc. He does keep me warm though. ![]()

There is a shelf without books on it. Of course he wants to leave!
I love the way you think: “Almost everything can be a bookshelf!” but I think those are stairs with a bit of carpet to prevent slipping behind Ollie in this photograph.
Cheers to Ollie for growing so fast and showing us frequent photos of his new life!
