I’m so sorry for you and your furbaby. this is not the way you wanted to find out that lilies do not belong in the house, at all, with cats. I hope all goes well for both you and the kitties - hopefully Ollie gets his buddy back to him soon.
I was just at the hospital for a couple hours. He’s really stressed out. Everyone is concerned but I got them to take the cone off while I was there and got him to eat about 20 pieces of dry food. He calmed down a bit but his respiration rate was off the charts.
He wanted at the IV so bad. I was able to stop him for awhile but then he got pissed and growled at me and hissed. So I put the cone back on and went home. Going back soon. Guess I will be spending the next 2 days there for the most part.
Ollie is going crazy looking for him but otherwise not attacking me with all my animal hospital smells on me.
They aren’t checking his kidney values until 24 hours after the first test. Hopefully he chills a little so he doesn’t have a heart attack or something. There’s another cat at the hospital with the same thing (mothers day flowers). She is doing great. We got eddie in much faster than they did but that cat is totally calm in the cage.
That cat (about the same age), has a cone on that’s so small, you can barely even see it. Eddie’s is enormous. I’m bringing his cone from when he got fixed back with me.
Say some prayers for Eddie. He turns 1 in 12 days.

I thought I had posted here about lilies before, but I don’t find it. Now I am sorry I didn’t!
We had yellow lilies planted (not by us) outside the front windows and I got rid of them after learning that even the pollen in the air blowing inside could be dangerous. I got tired of not being able to open the windows.
Unfortunately they are a popular Easter and Mother’s Day flower gift. My first one came from a neighbor as a condolence following my father’s funeral years ago, a beautiful Calla Lily. I looked it up for cat safety and quarantined it in a room with the door closed until the blooms were spent - that was before I knew about the pollen issue.
Hoping for a quick recovery for Eddie 
Bloodwork was OK but not great last night. Hoping and needing a miracle
Ain’t that some ■■■■… Doctor effed up last night and reversed his blood work numbers.
Everything moved the way it was supposed to. He’s coming home late tonight if everything looks good on re-test.
He has to go back tomorrow for another blood draw. If that’s clean, he’s cured. Thanks for the prayers. It works.
And how much have you aged in that time?
An eventful life so far.
No kidding. I may have lost one of my 9 lives since Sunday.
7 hours of sleep since Sunday. Visiting hours are 24/7 and I took advantage of that…
Such a sweet baby. He does look like he feels a little puny (nobody looks comfortable sitting in a litterbox!), but he looks aware and that’s good.
Once this is all over, it’s time to make sure you also know that poinsettas are dangerous to have around.
That I knew.
With that said, wish I didn’t and he ate a whole poinsettia plant instead of a tiny bit of pollen. The reality is they really aren’t that dangerous, which I also didn’t know until I was looking into what else might be in our cat’s environment that could be deadly.
The crazy thing is they haven’t identified what it is in lilies that’s so toxic to cats at this point.

Philodendrons (as with most tropical houseplants) really only give them mild stomach upset if they’re idiots about them. Ask me how many of my plants’ leaves I have cut cat bites out of. I’ll wait.

Interesting. Vet, just this morning, said Roses and Mums in her house only (she has cats).
This wasn’t the same Vet that read the time stamps wrong on Eddie’s bloodwork.
A different one.
I have a new rule. No more flowers in this house. I do have the Peace Lily though from my FILs wake that’s in the house 6 months of the year. It’s not a true lily, and only causes mouth irritation and stomach upset if ingested. We carefully researched that before we brought it in 3 years ago.
Those flowers are too tall for the fur babies to get to anyway, and they leave it alone. It sits in a corner, in my basement, under a grow light from Oct - April. Actually just put it outside this past Sunday, a few hours before the incident…
It is incredibly enormous at this point. Need a hand truck to move it.
Eddie is home! 
Bloodwork continued to look good.
Very slightest elevation in creatinine .9 to 1.0, but 1.0 was his baseline and anything up to 1.6 is considered normal. So he went from 1.0 to .9 (amazing to see it drop or be the same in this situation), back to baseline, an hour after ingestion.
Bun went from 30 baseline to 16 (happens from hydration), down to 13. That dropped lower because they increased the IV due to the miss-read of the test results.
PVC was elevated, but that could be a stress thing. They really only care about the other 2.
Unfortunately, we have to take him back tomorrow night around 9 for 1 more round of tests and he’s gonna be PISSED!
If he passes this testing, he’s considered out of the woods from any damage past the 72 hour mark. His primary vet and the doctors at the hospital believe this is a certainty.
I will update, but for now, thank you for your thoughts and prayers. This will never happen again.
He finally ate when he got home. First real meal since Sunday, other than Churros.
Ollie and Eddie will be reunited tomorrow. Giving Eddie some time to get some much needed sleep.
Yeah but he’ll really be happy to get back home right after!

Sure doesn’t feel like it bc I unknowingly put him in this position. Should have known better.
This didn’t go well. Ollie was being a ■■■■■ when I propped open the cat door. Was told to expect that from my personal vet and the hospital staff. So they will remain separated for now.
Just some hissing from Ollie, nothing major. He may not have liked the way Eddie looked with the shaved arm.
Just looking forward to getting some great news tonight so we can truly put this in the rear-view mirror.
You can’t know everything you don’t know. You got him to the vet in record time.
Some of Ollie’s objection could have been that Eddie still smelled like the vet hospital and that confused Ollie.
Valid point but I was laying all over that hospital during my 8 visits. And Ollie was smelling me up and down but never attacked.
We have strays around here that spray our garbage cans every night. I have to take the garbage out like I am playing a game of operation so they don’t touch my pants. If they do, he attacks me because he smells it.
With that said, It’s unlikely that too many intact strays make their way to this $2000 a night place Eddie was at… So that’s probably why I didn’t smell bad to Ollie.
In fact, he was rubbing me every time I got back, seemingly bc I smelled like his buddy who he has been searching for but now is mad at. LOL
Animals are so strange.
VEG just emailed me and our primary vet Eddie’s 12 page chart. This place takes better care of animals than hospitals take care of humans…
