Fun with Wild Animals

Your quick action saved his life. I’m glad to hear he is eating again. Poor guy, it was quite an ordeal for him, and you.

Tuna flavored cupcakes?

He’s 95% back to himself. Eating and drinking like a mad-man…

The 5% that’s left is him chasing ollie all over the house and vice versa. Ollie is trying but Eddie hasn’t been interested in playing with Ollie. So strange because he’s playing like crazy with us.

And they had always chased each other around all day and night - all 3 floors - barreling through the cat door to the upstairs house and back…

I read that the app stimulant can change their behavior. I cleaned his ears out real good tonight just in case that’s what it was. I’m sure there was some residual medication in there…

He surprisingly enjoyed the ear cleaning. Thought he would freak because I was holding him after what he’s just been through.

:white_check_mark: we can call this situation actually done now.

Out of the woods. Thank God! :folded_hands: :smiling_cat_with_heart_eyes:

I saved his life twice in 10 days…

He stopped cleaning himself last week and his coat was all greasy and gross. That’s all cleaned up at this point too. He looks good.

Thank you for the update. Glad to hear that Eddie is doing better.

I hope that the Eddie-Ollie situation is resolved soon. My guess is that Eddie still has a bit of PTSD from when Ollie hissed at him. Once Eddie realizes that Ollie is sorry and wants to be friends again it should resolve.

All the best to you, Eddie and Ollie.

POTP (Power of the Paw) :paw_prints:

They were chasing a little this AM.

The End (good) is near…

Thanks for the kind words all. This was challenging.

I was really worried about Eddie. Glad he’s almost back to normal

I was devastated last weekend. The good news is he’s good now. Not worried at all.

Eddie? I almost forgot. Today is his birthday, isn’t it?

And today he’s 21! (well, in ‘cat years’)

Have some catnip on me, Ollie!

Wow… I didn’t even remember. Thanks for posting this!

I am happy to report that Eddie has gained all of his weight back and is actively playing with Ollie again.

All is right in cat world again.

Remember folks - tell your cat friends and family about what happened to us. They may not know either.

So today we are eating breakfast and looking out the window. A cow comes running down our street followed by 2 high school girls trying to catch it. Guess the FFA kids are having a lesson in corralling. It was fun to watch this cow behave like a puppy dog. Every time they would get within 5 feet, the cow would just trot away. We called city hall and told the city manager what was going on (he got a good chuckle out of it). So now we got 2 city hall workers in trucks, a FFA kid in a truck and 3 girls on foot chasing this cow (which has made it around our block twice now).

Guess this cow is celebrating in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off style.

OK, I’m done with my bath… GET ME OUT HOOMAN!
(Chipmunk)

Just going to leave this here.

I should have known better. I was just thinking the other day that it’d been a while since we had a bird in the warehouse. What do I hear today: we have a bird in the warehouse that I just spent 30 minutes trying to evict.

Was it a Robin? @Lost_My_Marbles

lol

To your chagrin, no, it was just another wren like last time.

And it’s busting my Disney princess chops, as it’s evaded me all day.

We use to get them in grocery store warehouses. We would turn out the lights, open the back door so that the sunlight would light the doorway, and then take a broom and wave it at the wren. Once disturbed, then wren would move toward the lighted door way and out.

When it was inside the grocery store, we would put a little bird feed up near the entrance door. In the evening when the store got slower, it would make it up there and eventually out the automatic doors as customers came in and/or out.

My dad had an episode with a trapped kingfisher at a mill. Trapped down in something where it couldn’t fly out and didn’t seem to be able to crawl out either.

He knew what to expect and wore welding gloves, but still got nailed a few times before the bird flew away.

Im always very happy when these guys show up again for the season
