It’s hard to gauge at this point what it will become. I was featured before Christmas in FB ads and it exploded for me. So far I’ve gotten 230 orders, mostly around Christmas and undoubtedly from the feature ad. Since Christmas though, I’m getting 1 or 2 most days, slightly less than Etsy for me. I’m gonna work on driving more traffic there just because the fees are way cheaper than my other venues and the buyers and policy are way friendlier.
Thanks. The only forum I have been on was on Etsy and there you can click on a person that comments and look at their store and see what they make and sell. Its an adjustment here.
My experience at Etsy has been zilch. I don’t know enough to comment, but that place sort of reminds of of those markets in Jamaica where its just store after store of people re-selling the same stuff and none of it is made in Jamaica and none of the store owners live in Jamaica.
Meredith, one of your earrings is now showcasing in Valentine’s Day > Editor’s Pick (same carousel my book was in), lovely earrings. OOAK? The product page only have 1 listed, hope you are able to make more if it sells.
I looked that page early yesterday morning, my book was still there, but it is off that page now. Don’t know if the change happened during the day yesterday, or early this morning. In case it’s useful for you, my book was showcased for 2 weeks. I did sell 2 prs of earrings during the 2 weeks, but might not have anything to do with being showcased. Wish you better luck with yours.
Thanks for alerting me! I might have missed it because my internet was down for almost 2 days, and is still glitching. At least I didn’t have any orders during that time.
I’ve had those earrings for a long time and will be ecstatic if they sell. Title doesn’t say OOAK but text does.
I was having pretty steady - small, but steady sales on MP but it seems to have dried up. Not sure if the initial sales were due to their advertising. Everyone else still chugging along? I’m just going to keep adding stuff & hope it kicks back in.
I just logged in ok. For a long time my browser would stay logged in as log as I did not clear my cache but a few weeks ago something changed and I have to re-log in every 24 hours
I have to re-log in everyday, with 2 step verification code.
I log-in in the morning, it seems to stay logged in if I do things on the dashboard during the day. But if I’m not doing anything on the dashboard for most of the day, then I have to re-log in again in the evening with the code again. What a pain.
Not for me. I had a little spurt of sales around new year and I sold 2 prs of earrings during the 2 weeks they spotlighted one of my folded book, otherwise nothing.
Only 3 for me this year so far. I am definitely focusing elsewhere, but will continue adding new products when I add them to my website or Amazon. Etsy has died for me as well, and I don’t think I have the heart to keep clinking dimes into listings that don’t sell. Actually, I’ve profited more on MakerPlace than Etsy this year so far…
I made more sales on MakerPlace so far than I did on the last two years of Etsy. I completely gave up on Etsy and haven’t listed anything since Q4 2022.
I have 252 active listings on MakerPlace and will be adding more based on seasonality and what Michaels is looking to promote (the Saturday emails).
Same. Last year I averaged 1.5 orders per day but only on a fraction of my 300+ listings. I hate the way they have the variations set up and I’m sure it’s to support their listing fee revenue. If you set up a variation listing with quantity per variation, there’s no way to know that variation is out of stock without opening the listing to edit, or until someone messages you “when will this be back in stock?” I like Amazon’s inventory management way better.
I finally increased MakerPlace listings to 8. One item was favorited for about a month, then the favorite went away. I created some new items just for MakerPlace, but no traction yet.
