I just got this and have a question. They want my “Company Registration Number” - any idea what that might be?
EIN? State TaxID, County Tax License #?

I assume it is the EIN but to be safe, I would have the others handy just in case.

Company Registration Number - I’m suspecting is a CA thing. (?)

I think it is different from the US EIN. I read it can be obtained directly from the Federal Control Commission. (?)

Thank you for this confirmation - This is exactly what I did, including uploading a PDF bank statement. Hopefully it goes through with no issues.

I used my business license number - hopefully that’s what they wanted. If it’s EIN I assume it would have said that? Hmm.

Yeah I wasn’t sure. My license number is what I went with as I see EIN is a specific field in tax info in my account anyway. But still, licenses might be state or county or city, no? Not a standard format at all.

Oh well, I got all the rest, if I fail for that I’ll try the other numbers and ask what they mean. Of course they do it the day before payday…

My verification notice came from the .ca domain, so I’m worried you might be right. I have no idea how to get Canadian business registration numbers…

Ugh. It is moronic that this is even my problem. This is not supposed to be my job. I know nothing about this.

Exactly - I’m not sure if they match them on the backend with the state, or if they’d even have access to that? Who knows. I guess we’ll find out!

Damn, I was hoping .ca would stay under the radar. We do for a few things.

When my turn comes you can bet I will be here asking for Help! I have no idea what was ever submitted when, I joined around 1998 or 1999. Grrr!!!

I used the Secretary of State’s ID number that is publicly displayed when searching the Secretary of State’s website for registered businesses (not the number on my Sales and Use tax permit, for collecting/remitting state sales tax). It seems to have worked…

(Used the Nebraska number, even though the Inc is actually a WY corp :man_shrugging:)

Got my clearance today too.

I’m still waiting to hear back on when they want to do the video verification. Seems like they will choose one of the dates when I will be out of town, meaning my boss will have to do this on my own.

I may not have a job when I get back… :grimacing:

Is that one of the question in the process? I don’t have a business license number to put there. In the email it said to provide: “A business license, if applicable”, so does that mean I can just enter N/A for that question?

I seems like the Company Registration Number is a Canadian requirement. The question was about how to fill this requirement without a Canadian business registration.
The business license number is not required to sell on Amazon.

About “Business type” question in the Reverification process, I only sell on Amazon Handmade, and don’t have business license, should I chose “None, I’m an indivual” or “Private owned business”?

I’m afriad if I chose "“Private owned business”, it going to ask me for a business license, which I don’t have.

i picked those.

You chose “Private owned business”, right? do you have to supply a business license? Can I just enter “N/A” for that?
