Love this! As an old dairy farmer, itâs priceless!
Yes so many memories. Like the time I went to a local farm (not our farm but the farmer we bought from) to pickup hay and drove on his field to talk to him. I was very young, and boy did he give me a well deserved spanking (virtual.)
Or the time I missed the curve and the Scout (for those not knowing a jeep style vehicle made by International Harvester) and ended up in the corn field. I did come out on the other side with many stalks sticking to the plow mounts and axels.
With a âfarm backgroundâ we have done some interesting work for big companies and childrenâs museums. Like the time a local yogurt company asked us to make a milking cow. As in a cow you could milk.
No problem with that but my Accountant wanted to know what in the hell was I doing ordering teats from a veterinary supply store.
Thatâs almost as good as the campus accounting department wanting evidence, i.e., a printed bill, for the hay that a dairy science professor had purchased for his research. The Professor told them, âPut on your boots and Iâll take you out in the field. Iâll show you all the evidence you want!â
@Pepper_Thine_Angus I saw this Toyota in a parking lot the other day.

The Model T Club of America was in town and the surrounding area this week. There were about 80 of these vehicles from all across the country and Canada here. Here are a few photos.

Common mistake maybe, but not acceptable for a publisher.
To commemorate her birthday , actress/vocalist, Julie Andrews made a special appearance at Manhattanâs Radio City Music Hall for the benefit of the AARP. One of the musical numbers she performed was âMy Favorite Thingsâ from the legendary movie âSound Of Musicâ. Here are the lyrics she used:
(Sing It!) - If you sing it, its especially hysterical!!!
Botox and nose drops and needles for knitting,
Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,
Bundles of magazines tied up in string,
These are a few of my favorite things.
Cadillacs and cataracts, hearing aids and glasses,
Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,
Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,
These are a few of my favorite things.
When the pipes leak, When the bones creak,
When the knees go bad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I donât feel so bad.
Hot tea and crumpets and corn pads for bunions,
No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,
Bathrobes and heating pads and hot meals they bring,
These are a few of my favorite things.
Back pain, confused brains and no need for sinninâ,
Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinninâ,
And we wonât mention our short shrunken frames,
When we remember our favorite things.
When the joints ache, When the hips break,
When the eyes grow dim,
Then I remember the great life Iâve had,
And then I donât feel so bad.
(Ms. Andrews received a standing ovation from the crowd that lasted over four minutes and repeated encores.)
I see that heading is part of the image. Curious that whoever typed out that heading wrote âFrankenstein was actually the authorâ
And did that person not know that the good doctorâs first name was Victor?
That is closely related to one of my fond memories.
Back when I used to go garage saling a good deal (looking only for books, and in fact seeing only books), I glanced around, seeing none and the woman of the house asked if I was looking for anything in particular. When I mentioned books, she thought for a moment and then called out to her husband, âHon, what did we do with them there readinâ books?â
Good bookstore name, donât you think?
Obviously a distinction to confirm other possible usesâŚ
Perhaps this was the family that posted the Groj Sale sign.
