^^ Yes, I think the email was a “Hey, you’re in and we’re going live so get this set up”
At the top of that email it says it will be down for like 12 hours so you would think they would want to alert all sellers about the upcoming down time?
This seems like such a disorganized mess. Can’t wait for launch
I signed up immediately when I first got an invitation, started on a store right away, and received the “going live on aug. 1st” email earlier today. I was a bit surprised about that because I recall reading somewhere on the site that they would send a “heads up” email a couple of weeks before expected live date. This seems to be a soft opening, or, as they are referring to it, as a beta opening. Maybe they are going to utilize a rolling store activation approach at this time and that is why some people who did sign up and started a store, did not get the going live email. Who knows? Check your junk mail.
I will say this: If you’re on the fence or taking a wait and see approach, I think you’re being foolish. If you have the time, apply, or if you have been accepted, get your store up. The listings are free for the first few months and you’re squandering an opportunity to be first. First is huge. For ex: I started Merch by Amazon back in late 2017 and although they had been live for a year or two before that, it was nothing that it is today in terms of the sheer number of people doing it and the volume of competition. Are my designs necessarily far superior to others? Some yes, but some no. I get a nice fat residual check every month for getting in early and getting those sales and reviews. Just something to think about.
Made an effort this morning and finished the Registration process, so now I have the Maker Dashboard.
Just need to list a couple things before 7 PM PT tomorrow to beat the Beta opening deadline, but feels like I need to read more help page to get more familiar with things.
One question: I see there are 2 Store templates. “Standard template” and “Enhanced Template”, which one did you guys use for your store front?
Right now it looks like mine is using “Standard”, just wondering if that’s because I choose “Basic” plan? Is it necessary to use “Enhanced” or do I even have a choice in this matter?
Seller Agreement 1c is about U.S. only. Unfortunately, MakerPlace won’t work for me. Good luck to all of you! I really hope the site turns out to be a genuine handmade site.
Enhanced. The Standard says it’s only 1 page and everything is stacked. Enhanced is for many products. I only have 1 right now, but if I end up actually using it, I’ll have a lot.
Did you change from “Standard” to “Enhanced”? If so, how do you do that? Also, did you choose the Professional plan or the Basic plan?
I didn’t really get to choose which format to use, but did choose the Basic plan, and the system just have me set with “Standard” after I finished with Registering.
I think I read that if you choose the professional plan, billing will not start until after 4 months of the site being live. With the basic, I think you were only allowed a small number of listings per month??? I went professional because I think I will know in 4 months time whether this venue is going to fly. Given what I’m seeing, it may be much longer.
I went with the Professional plan, because of the little blurb about “Opportunity to be Featured” by Michaels. No idea what that means but I don’t want to miss out. If they were to promote people that could make it worth the extra $$, I’m also always so sus that maybe if you don’t you will rank low or something. It’s the same reason I pay for the practical worthless Etsy Plus, I’m to afraid not to pay for it that it might change rankings (Even though Etsy swears up and down that Etsy Plus has nothing to do with rankings, it’s just not something I want to quit paying for just in case).
4 months is a good time to figure out things and if I don’t make any money then goodbye! LOL.
Tried to log in this morning and I get a 404 page. Well that doesn’t inspire much confidence, does it?
Update: Found it - now that it’s live they moved the dashboard.
Update: HUZZAH! First Class shipping!
Thanks for that info. Just ready to go there. Good to have the heads up about the Dashboard.

@wadeorcas, I was doing a search of quilting pattern, and your rings showed up. Guess the system latched on to the word “pattern” instead of the term quilting pattern.
Let us hope some quilters who is looking for a quilting pattern falls in love with your rings.
Yes we have had nothing but a 404 error since sunrise, time now about noon EDT.
Use the link above by @LR72 to get to the new dashboard location.
Having a poke around the live site (not joining). Looks like the default search result is price - at least that’s what I get under “best Match”. So I’m getting to page 3 of jewelry and still on $8 earrings.
And on the first row is a “Disney inspired” pair - and yet they gave Wade agita for using “vintage style”…
Wade’s photos stand out
Aren’t there any guidelines for photos? Background, size, etc? Most of the photos (in the jewelry category) are really not appealing at the moment.
I think make sure your photos are square because it looks like they get cropped in to squares lol.
Yes, that.
My main photo from Amazon were already in square format, so no problem. most of other secondary photo, as long as there are enough background beyond the item, were also ok. But I had a couple photo the item were pretty close to the edge and not in square format, and they were shown as parts get cut off.
