COMMUNITY EXPECTATIONS

SellersAskSellers.com (SAS) is a space for sharing with respect, curiosity, compassion, and authenticity. In that spirit, we have specific expectations for member behavior, in addition to the FAQ, Terms of Service, and Privacy policies governing the Discourse platform where SellersAskSellers.com is hosted and our SAS Mission Statement, Community Goals, and Transparency Info. Your SAS participation signifies acceptance of SAS policies and guidelines.

The basics

  1. RESPECT THE ENERGY OF THE COMMUNITY.
  2. RESPECT THE TIME OF THE COMMUNITY.
  3. PROTECT YOUR PII.
  4. FOLLOW ALL COMMUNITY GUIDELINES.
  5. YOUR CONTENT.

The details

  1. RESPECT THE ENERGY OF THE COMMUNITY.
1.1. Give more than you take: contribute meaningfully when you can, and lurk when you can’t.
1.2 Discussion, disagreement, and debate are expected. Stay professional and respectful when rightfully challenging inaccurate information or unhelpful advice. Be pleasant in disagreement.
1.3 Harassment, abuse, spam, disruptive behavior, and irrelevant links are prohibited.
1.4 Do not contact members via personal message (PM) or by any means outside of SAS with promotional content or commercial solicitations. If a member requests that you stop communicating via PM or off-site, then further contact will be considered abusive.
1.5 Stay up-to-date on your selected ecommerce platform policies and procedures independently.
1.6 Do not use any content here for commercial purposes, unless it is your own intellectual property (IP). Seek permission before using another member’s content for publication. Unless otherwise noted and except for SAS moderation purposes, all content is the IP of the member who shared it.
1.7 You can share links to outside sources, but only post your own content. IP owners may (upon demonstration of valid, legal ownership) request removal of their IP by contacting SAS staff.
1.8 Discussions about politics or religion and derogatory/abusive language are prohibited. SAS staff can edit/remove any content judged to be inappropriate and/or irrelevant.
1.9 Any content which is illegal in the United States is prohibited, including advocating, endorsing, promoting, or encouraging illegal acts or content. SAS may forward information of criminal actions, conduct, and content to Law Enforcement.
1.10 Any content which publicizes “workarounds” or encourages behavior in violation of the Seller agreements or policies of any sales channel is prohibited.
1.11 If you have a concern about a topic, reply, post, or member, please report it immediately via post flag, PM, or email to [email protected].

  2. RESPECT THE TIME OF THE COMMUNITY.
2.1 Display professionalism in your questions, responses, language, tone, and images at all times.
2.2 Explore our different Categories and post new topics in the right spot.
2.3 Search before posting a new topic, in case it has already been discussed.
2.4 Start a new topic instead of “hijacking” an existing topic for your issue.
2.5 When replying, provide meaningful content rather than being repetitive or “empty” (e.g., “This!”).
2.6 Read an entire topic and all replies before replying.
2.7 Only post Help links from the official platform policies or forums.
2.8 Accept that mistakes and human error can happen. The e-commerce word is wide, fast-paced, and quickly-evolving. Answers vary from platform to platform and even for different categories/marketplaces within a platform.
2.9 Be authentically yourself and do not misrepresent your SAS entity or profile. Having more than one SAS account, impersonating others, creating alter ego and/or “sock puppet” profiles, and/or engaging in deceptive actions regarding SAS identity, profile, and/or account details are all prohibited.
2.10 Neither SAS nor members can escalate cases with platforms. If you need platform support, then you need to contact platform support channels directly.
2.11 If you see a violation of SAS guidelines and policies, please report it immediately via post flag, PM, or email to [email protected].

  3. PROTECT PII.
PII is Personally Identifiable Information. SellersAskSellers.com will not expose your Seller identity, Amazon (or other platform) Store, or personal or business information and will work proactively to maintain a safe community, but you are also responsible for protecting your own and others’ PII. SAS can not ensure that readers or members will not exploit PII that you reveal and takes no responsibility for any consequences of such. Please see our Privacy Policy for details on how SAS does and does not use your PII.
3.1 Do not reveal personal or business information in topics or replies, including but not limited to your own name, address, Amazon/other platform Store link, email address, telephone/WhatsApp number, suppliers, or social handles. Do not reveal the PII of others. You may include one (1) web link in your SAS Profile.
3.2 Although you may reveal personal information in PMs, these communications are not private, and your PII could be compromised.
3.3 Do not ask another member for personal or business information, and do not publicly share the PII of any other 3P Seller, whether they are or are not a member of SAS.
3.4 SAS is completely outside the territorial boundaries of any jurisdiction with Right to Be Forgotten Laws. Although you can request that all of your data be removed and their account deleted–and SAS will comply to the best of our ability–if you are in a territorial jurisdiction with such laws, your use of this site shall be construed as a complete waiver of any Right to Be Forgotten.
3.6 SAS might use digital “cookies”. If you are in the EU or other territory which regulates the use of digital cookies on a site, then your continued use of SAS shall be considered a complete waiver of any legal rights that you might have governing use of digital cookies. In fact, your use of SAS from within the EU might be a criminal act, for which you are solely responsible.

  4. FOLLOW ALL COMMUNITY GUIDELINES.
4.1 Do not use SellersAskSellers.com to promote products, services, service providers, or other Amazon Seller communities; self-promote; sell or advertise products; or to generate leads for contact outside of the community.
4.2 Do not use community flags to target or harass another member.
4.3 In some cases, prohibited behavior between SAS members that occurs off-site might be addressed by consequences within SAS, upon notification and investigation.
4.4 Consequences for SAS violations might include warnings, silencing, suspension, or expulsion/banning, at any point. Members who do not respond to warnings from staff will have community privileges limited, including silencing, suspension, or expulsion from the community.
4.5 SAS staff reserve the right to terminate any member account at any time for any reason, without warning and without an opportunity for appeal.

  5. YOUR CONTENT
SellersAskSellers administrators and staff reserve the right to edit or remove your content without prior warning or notification afterward, for purposes of moderating forum content and/or addressing violations of Community Expectations.
5.1 “Your content” includes posts, topics, topic titles, tags, profile information, profile images, and other content created by you and shared on SellersAskSellers.
5.2 Editing of your content is not intended to modify your message but to offer clarity or to address violations. Some examples of why SellersAskSellers might edit your content may include but are not limited to correcting spelling errors and/or obvious typos; adjusting content to adhere to topic template, category guidelines, forum organization, and/or facilitate search-and-find for users; and search engine optimization.
5.3 Content may be removed at any time because it violates our TOS, Community Expectations, or applicable laws, with or without community flags.
5.4 The System will automatically notify users for most content edits or removals.
5.5 If you have a concern about any content edits or removals, you can reply to the System notification, flag the post or topic, email [email protected], or send a message to moderators/ @SAS-Staff .
